George and I celebrated our anniversary yesterday by spending the afternoon in Cincinnati checking out the rather larger Ikea store…everything you ever wanted for your home and didn’t know you needed or wanted it…had a delicious dinner at Mitchell’s Fish Market…I had broiled shrimp and sea scallops that were very yummy and gluten free…and after dinner we went to see Cincinnati and San Francisco play a baseball game. We had great seats and only a couple of very brief sprinkles of rain once the game started but not enough to be very concerned about…over all it was a great evening. Unfortunately the Reds lost but that was OK…we still had a great day and evening. We got back home a little before midnight so it was a full day.
Today we were back at the blue house and I got the second bathroom painted and scrubbed the tile floor in there several times before it was really clean…had rust, dirt, paint, and you name it on it but I got it all off on the third washing using Bar Keepers cleanser and a scrub pad. We’re making progress, ever so slowly, and we are almost half way done…we hope to have it all done by August, if not before. It’s been a big job but we work well together…at least most of the time and when we don’t I just walk back home…it’s good seeing the transformation to this house. Thank goodness George is such a good handy man! I’m pretty much just the painter, cleaner, and go-fer!
We’ve finally gotten some good rain today and we sure were needing it. It seems in the spring we couldn’t get it to stop and now we’re once again praying for it. It’s going to be rather warm once the rain stops so we’ll dry out pretty fast and again be praying for more rain.
No news so guess I’ll go read my book and finish up the laundry. Have a great rest-of-the-week and count all the many blessings you have each day that we all just take for granted!
Blessings……..
