Yesterday at Holiday World…

We…the Crockett family along with the Gabehart family, minus Byron who had to work…met at Holiday World amusement / water park in Santa Claus, Indiana…about 3 hours from Wilmore…for a full day of fun and togetherness.  To say the day was hot is putting it mild but since we spent the better part of the day in the water park section…mostly waiting in a line to ride another water ride…we survived.  I was amazed at the size of the crowd on a Wednesday but I guess many families go there during their vacation time.  Believe me…I saw far to many hind ends and boobies along with some really sunburn skin to last me the remainder of my life.  The park is family friendly and provides unlimited soft drinks, sunscreen, and is a somewhat smoke free park.  We celebrated Jerod’s birthday on Tuesday night but his actual birthday was yesterday and that was part of why we were there.  Thanks for a great time everyone!

Now back to reality…several loads of laundry need to be done today, work over at the “blue house”, and catch up on some correspondence that I’ve neglected.  We heard this week that Jim, Jr will be working out of Anchorage, Alaska now and that will be a BIG adjustment from Nashville.  He’ll be flying a 747 for UPS and is excited about that but not sure about the move.  Also, we got word yesterday that Mom and Dad have finally decided it’s time to head to an assisted living facility and are looking for the right place  for them, already talked to a realtor and will put their house up for sale, and then the fun will begin…sort through 71 years of treasures.  I know how hard this was for me when we downsized for the second time almost three years ago so, I can only imagine what it’s like for mother.  I am glad they have made this decision as walking is so hard for mom, along with constant pain in her back and the swollen legs, and she will get use to being waited on for the first time in her life.  Carter has a new position with Regions bank and is excited about that…Clark has started his new job as of Tuesday and still unsure of  the actual move date…Melissa stays busy selling houses…Tanya is getting ready to start back to school next month to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner…and I guess Scott is doing well…haven’t talked to him lately…and continues to stay really busy with work and those precious twins.  Life is busy for all of us, but we are all healthy and happy for the most part!

Well, nothing is getting done so guess I better get up and start my day.  Stay cool…still in the mid 90’s here with high humidity but a change is coming soon, so they say…and know you are loved and appreciated by me!

Blessings………
