Today is my sister’s birthday…won’t mention how many…and I wish for her another great year of life and a day of celebration on her special day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA!!!
We had a great weekend this past weekend…Thursday we were with Lawrence, Linda, and Buddy. It has been far to long since we got to spend any time with them and it was fun being there. We even got to watch Lawrence’s favorite TV fishing show…boring beyond belief! Friday we were with Linda and Jim and, again, we had a good time…ate far to much, and stayed up way to late. Saturday morning we head to Alabama. We saw George’s Aunt Imogene and his cousin Jerry for a few hours before we headed into Florence for George’s 50th high school reunion. The reunion was very nice…full of OLD people. though..but George enjoyed seeing some of his former classmates and friends. Sunday we went to church and saw Marjorie…George’s sister-in-law…and caught up on what’s going on with them. After church we went back to the hotel and spent a little time with Chipper…he was on duty and the fire house which was right around the corner…and it was good seeing him again. We headed to Athens from there to meet Carter and Lori for lunch…they drove up from Birmingham…and they are both doing well but staying really busy with their work, etc. After lunch we headed for home and got here around 7:30 p.m.  We had a really full few days but we got to touch base with a lot of friends and family members so that made it all worthwhile.
Yesterday…Monday…we worked at the “blue house” all day and we will again today. I’m going to put the final coat of paint on the living room walls while George installs the H/AC unit in the back bedroom…hope that will go smoothly. We are nearing completion even though we do have several “small” things to do before the carpet is installed next week. I believe that’s referred to as the “punch list”…wonder if it’s called this because at this point we’d like to “punch” something, or someone, if they suggest one more thing to do! The house is looking really nice and we are proud of our labors. Of course, we can always find things that haven’t been done perfectly, but, hey, they are done and that’s all that matters at this point! The appliance arrived yesterday and they look nice and we can now have cold water while we’re working and that’s a definite plus!
We’ll have three of Melissa’s kids starting tomorrow…maybe tonight…and that’s going to be fun. It’s so hot out and I’m not sure all we’ll do but I know without a doubt we’ll be doing something! Have a good anniversary trip Melissa and Byron!
Guess I’d better get myself up and headed over to the “blue house” for another day of “fun”. Stay cool and remember…winter is coming soon!
Blessings………
