It got up to 102 today and the humidity was right up there with it. It’s suppose to stay this way for several more days before we finally cool off to the lower 90’s. My flowers are really stressing with all this heat and I’m not sure they are going to survive. I water them but that doesn’t help keep the heat off of them. Oh well, they were pretty while they lasted.
We had quite a bit of activity on the house today. It was shown twice…one of those was very interested…and is to be shown again tomorrow. I know the lady looking tomorrow and I hope she decides to buy it. She’s so sweet and will be a good neighbor to our good neighbors. Here’s hoping something will happen before long.
Melissa was #1 in her office for this last month. That’s quite an accomplishment since she’s just started. She’s almost at the point where she can say she’s a “million dollar” seller. She is perfect for the job since she’s never met a stranger and loves to talk. Her building experience is really a plus along with her decorating skills. The market is slow but homes are still being sold, etc. so she’s in the right business. Our nation is always on the move so there will always be houses to be sold or bought.
We had a strange experience at church tonight. We were to have a guest speaker from Indy speak but he didn’t get there until five minutes before time to go home. We sang or prayed for 55 minutes and then he rushed in and spoke for 20-25 minutes. He thought we were on central time and was very embrassed. I felt sorry for him and his family. He had prepared a lesson but had to leave the majority of it out…oh well, he’s got a lesson for another time and another place. Bet he’ll check the time next time he’s ask to speak somewhere.
This will be a busy weekend…Youth In Action going on through Sunday at church, a big BeautiControl unit meeting in Harrodsburg, KY on Sunday afternoon…this is close to Tanya’s so we’ll spend Sunday visiting them…and we will have Jerry Page as our house guest this weekend. He’s bringing his daughter, Kelsey, and some of her friends here for the youth activity. Kelsey will be starting her college career later this month and is somewhat nervous about this big leap into the adult world. She’ll do fine as she’s very smart, pretty, and friendly.
School starts on Monday for Melissa’s kids and on Wednesday for Tanya’s kids. All the kids are both excited and hating the thoughts of being back in the classrooms…bet the teachers are too with all this heat! The summer went by fast but everything was done that was suppose to be done and now it’s time to get back to some sort of schedule.
Keep praying for cooler weather and for each other.
Blessings………
