We had a good, but busy, week this past week. On Monday we left home and headed to Louisville to attend the funeral of our friend, Carolyn Davis…she will be missed for a long time by a lot of people. From there we headed to Atoka…outside of Memphis, TN…to spend the night with Neyland and Turner and their parents, Scott and Allison, of course! The boys are so cute and they are unusually good babies. They are 8 months old already and growing like bad weeds. I got as much spoiling time in as possible before we headed out the next morning for Abilene, TX to visit my parents.
We got to Abilene in time for dinner on Tuesday night…after a 12 hour ride…and mother had done her usual good job of preparing a roast beef dinner. YUM, YUM! The remainder of the week we spent helping the folks do some things around their house in preparation for their move to University Place, an assisted living facility. They were told today that the very unit they were wanting to get is going to be available soon. All this sorting, and discarding, is really difficult for mother but, from personal experience, it is very freeing. Since they have not sold their house yet, they will be able to leave some things there for awhile…that’s called “staging”…and not leaving your junk behind!
We had to turn in our rental car today, so we left Abilene on Sunday morning for another 12 hour ride back to Atoka…got in some additional spoiling time…and arrived back home around 3:15 p.m. today. We covers a lot of ground in just a week, but it was fun being with family!  By the way…the folks are still tough at the 42 table!
The “blue house” is rented Wednesday – Saturday morning of this week and for that we are thankful. We’re going to Nashville on Saturday morning to spend the day with Linda and Jim before attending a wedding that evening for Jessica Black. Linda is having all the Nashville family members over on Sunday afternoon…along with the Crockett’s since they will all be there for the wedding and this is Tanya’s week at Vandy…should be fun spending time with everyone. We will get back home Sunday night…another busy week. We only have one day rented out the next week but we’re always hoping for more.
I’m tired so guess I’ll head to bed. Have a great week, continue to pray for Mom and Dad to sell the house…Clark’s too…and that the move will go smoothly.
Blessings…..
