Here it is four days into the new year and I’m just now wishing everyone a “happy new year”. Wonder if this is how this year will be going for me…always a day later and a dollar short? The last couple of days we’ve actually had some decent weather…in the 40’s – 50’s…and the sun is shinning. The sun shine can sure make these winter days bearable, even if it is cold.
Since I last posted on here, we made a quick trip to Louisville to wish Ryan, yet again, happy birthday and enjoy watching him get to celebrate his special day with Byron’s side of the family, and only a week late. Turning 16 created a birthday celebration that was akin to the energy bunny…it went on and on. He has his permit to learn to drive now so WATCH OUT!!! He’s like most teenagers in believing he has everything under control while scaring the bejeebies out of the one in the car with him. All I can say is good luck and glad it’s you and not me…been there, done that, and don’t desire to do it again. We were at Melissa’s on new year’s eve…the final birthday celebration day…and it was a fun time. Melissa, along with Byron’s sisters, enjoy entertaining on the karaoke machine and that always creates a good laugh. The guys watched a lot of ballgames and we all ate a lot of good food. We didn’t stay for the actual new year ball drop as we wanted to get home before the drunks got on the roads…which we did, thankfully.
I have had a cleaning bug attack since this new year began and it’s about to wear me out. The last two days, I’ve DEEP cleaned the living room, dining room, kitchen, bath, and two bedrooms. I told George I guess I’m doing my spring cleaning early and all I’ll have left to do are the windows when spring actually gets here. I have to admit I had let the “dust bunnies” have free reign and it was time to regain control…the house does look and smell so good, if I have to say so myself. I have the laundry room and George’s office left to do so I see the end to my craziness. I love a clean, organized house…just wish I wasn’t the one having to do it. Oh well, I don’t have much else to do and it sure beats boredom.
May this New Year be a blessing to you, along with good health, happiness, and a closer walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Life continues to move forward at a faster rate and many opportunities open up when we look for them…so, keep your eyes open and see all God has planned for you in 2011.
Blessings…..
