We have some renters….

We have had a family of five at the “blue house” since this past Saturday and we are so thankful.  They MAY be there until tomorrow…although their original plans were to leave today.  They are from Orlando, FL and came to our area for some meetings (conference ?) at one of the big churches in Lexington.  We are very thankful for them and pray we’ll have more families in the near future. They said this has worked out very well for them and their needs…also cheaper than a motel for that many days with that many people.  Our little community paper will be featuring the “blue house” in the next issue…can’t wait to see what’s printed.  I continue to work on my patience concerning the lack of renters, but it’s just now getting noticed.  I’ll keep praying and waiting.

We are getting rain today, which is washing away all the ugliness of left-over snow and salt, but snow is being predicted again for this coming weekend…just an inch or so.  Are we all thinking SPRING?  Only six – eight more weeks and all this craziness should be over with until next winter.  Thank goodness!!!

George is working hard out in the carriage house…his work shop…making more room for all his “toys” and work area.  This means I’ll be going through some of the stored boxes and getting rid of lots of JUNK, again.  I really believe if it was worth saving for over three years, it wouldn’t be out there to begin with.  Why do we (I)  insist on saving stuff we never need or use?  Actually, it was all just put there when we moved in so I wouldn’t have to deal with it then and it was forgotten…again, we don’t need whatever it is.  I imagine much of it will go into the garbage or the spring yard sale.  Did I ever mention how much I hate doing a yard sale?  Well, I do but we will do one in the spring anyway…only ONE.

I talked with Melissa yesterday and her weekend was a busy one.  The three boys were in a wrestling tournament…Tyler (even though he’s only in elementary school) and Kyle were in a middle school tournament and Ryan was suppose to be in the high school tournament.  Well…Ryan was somehow left out of the computer concerning his body fat % so he was not allowed to wrestle…he was disappointed since this was his first time back on the mat since breaking his leg.  Tyler did not win his match so he’s now just at the elementary level while Kyle came in fourth and will be going to the regional tournament this coming weekend.  If Kyle wins in this tournament he’ll go to state.  While all the wrestling was going on, Madi managed to fall backward off of Ryan’s lap and hit her head on a step that required six stitches to close…unplanned ER trip among the busy day.  Now both Tyler and Madi have the flu…at least from all indication it’s the flu…with vomiting, high fever, and aching all over.

Tanya got home Sunday night from her week at Vandy and that’s always a good thing for her and her family.  She’s now busy getting in all her clinical hours, from now until the end of  April, along with all the study that’s required for the classroom assignments, etc.  This is a very busy time but she’s doing well and handles all the pressure well.  She will complete this degree in August so she has a while to go yet.

In just a few weeks…Feb. 12….the twins will be celebrating their first birthday.  It hard to realize that a year has already gone by.  They are so cute, adorable, and such GOOD BOYS and I just wish we got to spend more time with them.  We will be going for the birthday party and I can’t wait.  February is a busy birthday month for us…Chase celebrates on the 6th, Tyler on the 7th, Me on the 8th, Marjorie on the 9th (George’s sister-in-law), Turner/Neyland on the 12th.  Life is becoming one big party for this big family!

Clark continues to work hard and long hours but seems to be doing well.  Vanessa is still in Texas enjoying the warmth and doing well health wise….cold weather makes her hurt all over…and all other family members continue to do well as far as I know.

Guess I need to get busy doing something productive…like sort through those boxes, or clean the “blue house” should our renters leave today.  God continues to bless us abundantly and I continue to love and honor him each day…hopefully, you do too!  Good luck this weekend at regional’s, Kyle.  I am very proud of you…win or lose.  If fact, I’m very proud of all my kids and grandkids…like I said, I’m blessed beyond measure.  Madi and Tyler…feel better soon and don’t share the “flu bug” with your family!

Blessings….
