The days are flying by and I’m still not completely packed. I took yesterday off since I was sick with a stomach virus and we went to Wilmore today to do some things. Tomorrow I will attack our closet and, hopefully, some of the kitchen cabnets. I will have it done by the 29th so I’m not worried.
We’re looking forward to seeing Scott and Allison this weekend and enjoying some of the sights of Memphis…along with seeing their new home. We enjoyed Clark and Vanessa this past weekend and they seem to be doing well. Lacey didn’t come because she had to work…she’s a hostess at a Appleby’s. We got to spend a little time with Branden and his girlfriend Amy and that was nice. He’s a junior in college now and seems to be doing well…still trying to find his way into the adult world. Sean is in Germany and we got to talk briefly with him on Sunday. He’s doing well, also, and seems to be happy doing what he’s doing.
We were given a very lovely farewell party at church Sunday niight. There was a large crowd, lots of sandwiches, etc., many kind words expressed, several gifts given, a donation to the elevator fund, and I admit to having shed lots of tears…along with others…but it was good all the way around. Melissa said it best when she said that people were able to say these things while we were with them and not at our funeral. Tanya and her family came to it and that was a very pleasant surprise. Madi is having a hard time with us moving…at least she’s expressing her thoughts more than the others. She told her Papa that our moving was a bad idea. Then she ask me why did we have to move? They are the ones that make the move difficult but I plan to be able to see them monthly, at least. George is working at UofL and the Crossroads Missions, so there is no reason for me not to tag along on those days he’ll be in Louisville.
We’ll be in St. Louis from Monday – Wednesday of next week with our friends, Ron and Jean Like, that we met in Florida.  They live in Kansas and we always have a good time when we are together. They are a very sweet couple and our friendship developed really fast. We’ll get back home to Louisville on Wednesday night and we’ll really have to be in full swing from that point on. Our “Supper Club” will meet on Thursday night, we have a wedding on Friday night, and will be back in Wilmore on Saturday…I’m hoping to set up the kitchen and pantry on that day. That’s always a big job and will make the move go a lot smoother if I can get this done. Should we get back to Louisville in time, our care group will be meeting on Saturday night…I doubt we’ll make this event, however. Too many “good-byes” for me! Life is busy but we’re thankful for it and we are excited about this new adventure opening up to us.Â
I’ve got laundry to do so I’ll close for now. Summer has returned to KY and we’re still lacking rain so pray for this area. It’s so dry but the few days of cooler weather has helped the plants look like they might survive for a little longer.Â
Enjoy your day!
Blessings……
