Although today has been a very busy day for us, I want to take a minute and wish Lorin a very happy 70th birthday. WOW…that sounds old and I’m approaching it myself…in another year + one month….but it looks good on him. I know his day was full of surprises…starting with last night when Victoria was standing on the front porch after having just gotten back to school a few days before…and then the surprise party at ACU basketball game. Glad you had a good day and may you have many more special days. Love you, Lorin!
George and I left early this morning for Louisville to see Kyle wrestle in the regional tournament. Unfortunately he came up short but he had a good season and did his best. We’ll be looking forward to next year when he’ll be on the high school team with Ryan. Speaking of Ryan, he, too, wrestled today for the first time since breaking his leg. Well, it was a disappointing day for him but we’ll hope next week will be a better one. It’s hard getting back up to par when you’ve had to lay out for so long. Hang in there, Ryan. We’re cheering for you and keep working hard. I’m very proud of all three boys and their wrestling abilities…it’s a really tough sport.
Jerod was in a academic tournament today and he came in 2nd in Language Arts and Social Studies and his team came in FIRST for the quick recall. Congratulations, Jerod. Grayson was the star of his basketball team today…scoring 20 points personally…Blake was a big asset on his team…scoring 10 points. Jerod’s basketball team tried hard but came up short. Good day all around for them and we’re proud of each one.
While we were in Louisville, we went by to see our friend, Patty, that has liver cancer. She has been waiting for a year for a liver transplant but was told Thursday that she was taken off the list since the cancer has spread outside of the liver. Needless to say, she’s quite disappointed. They are giving her a new drug…cost of $6,000 a month…that is promising and not as toxic as chemo. She is hopeful and we will continue to pray for healing. She’s in a lot of pain but her spirits remain high. Please pray for her and for her family.
It remains extremely cold…was 2 degrees when we left the house this morning…and snow is being predicted each day next week. Now isn’t that something to look forward to? Oh well, we’ll survive but come on Spring!!!
Have a great worship tomorrow and we’ll do the same. Again…HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Lorin…Congratulations to all our wrestlers, basketball players, and scholar.
Blessings……
