Although winter is not 100% over, I will be planting some pansies at the “blue house” today to brighten up those dull window boxes. These flowers will be replaced with the wavy petunias around derby day (first of May) since the front of the house gets lots of sun and pansies resist direct sunshine. I’m so excited to be back outside…even if it is hit and miss for sunny/warm days for now…and seeing all of central Kentucky coming back to life!  The horse farms are amazing!!!
I have recovered from the retreat, have received many positive comments, but can honestly say I’m glad it’s behind me. I did enjoy seeing all the ladies and catching up on what’s going on with most of them, but I find doing a retreat rather stressful. I’m sure that was just a one time event so I won’t ever have to worry about that again.
We continue to stay busy with life and keeping the “blue house” rented. We decided we no longer wanted the trundle bed…a pain to pop up the second bed on carpet…so we got some platform bed frames and I think the room looks so much better. We have quite a few renters on the book through June and then a couple more in September. We have had several calls for the same weekend due to events at the University and Seminary…so we are getting noticed.  Thank you Lord!!! We still think it’s a great “guest” house and glad we’re having the opportunity to use it.
I’m thankful for Linda and Jim being able to spend some time with the folks this week. Mom and Dad continue to do well and they will both be having their 92nd birthday…along with 72nd anniversary…in another month or so. God has truly been good to them! Thanks for finding the missing rings, Linda, as I know that’s been a big concern to both Mom and Dad.
Jerod’s academic team made it to the Sweet Sixteen but got beat by a Louisville middle school that I knew would be tough. It’s an honor to make it to the top 16 so we’re very proud of him and all his team. Kyle, Tyler, Blake, and Grayson are all in baseball again this year and Kyle will be having his first game on Saturday…we’re planning on attending that one…and this will keep both of these families busy for the next few months. Ryan is busy most weekends with his ROTC rifle competition which takes him to some really distant places…such as Daytona, FL., Ohio, Indiana…just to mention a few places I know about. Madi and Meredith continue to be charming and for that we are thankful. The last I heard…Neyland is walking and Turner is still thinking about why that’s necessary when you can get there faster by crawling. Lacey will be having shoulder surgery on the 23rd…what a way to celebrate her birthday on the 24th…and we’re praying for a complete recovery and quickly! Sean, Branden, Chase, and Chance are all doing well…hopefully! We don’t hear much from them, or about them, and that makes me sad. Oh well, such is life, I guess.
Got to get the clothes out of the dryer and myself over to the “blue house”. Have a great weekend, cheer for the Louisville Cardinals in the basketball March madness…Oh, cheer for UK, too…and look for the good all around. It’s there, and we are all so blessed. Continue praying for the people in Japan…can’t imagine what they are going through and will continue in for years! Love to all!
Blessings………
