Windy in Texas….

We got to Abilene on Saturday afternoon and it was a very long, uneventful…thankfully…ride with lots of traffic that was probably headed to the ballgames or the beaches. Sorry the Cats didn’t go further but they did make it to the final four and that’s not shabby!

Yesterday was an unexpected afternoon spent at the ER with my mother. We had gone to church that morning and were in the process of eating our lunch when Mom said she needed to go back to their “condo” immediately. George and I proceeded to get her our of the dining area as she got sicker and sicker. By the time we got to the entrance of the dining area she had to sit down, was clammy all over, and very weak. We got a wheel chair and rushed her up to the “condo” where we immediately took her blood pressure…which was very high…so I went to the desk and had them call 911. The EMT’s were here within minutes, checked her out and advised her to go to the ER. The ambulance arrived, loaded her up, and away we went. The final diagnosis is something may be wrong with her esophagus since she was having difficulty swallowing…another heart attack symptom…and she’s seeing a GI specialist on Wednesday afternoon. She, as well as most, think it was her heart since that’s the exact way she did when she’s had heart issues in the past. The test all came back that the heart was OK but none of us are convinced. Guess we’ll find out more on Wednesday.

Today George and I got out and walked and it was quite cool and a very windy day…a storm came through during the night and the temperatures really dropped. It was 96 yesterday and only in the low 60’s today with a wind that tried to rip your hair out of your head! It was good to finally get out and walk regardless!

Mom and Dad continue to demoralize us by beating us in 42 but we’re going to get serious and thump them next time…maybe. Lorin left town today with his work and won’t be back until Wednesday afternoon so we won’t get to see him much this trip. Patsy is recovering from their vacation to California and then her trip to see Victoria, but hoping to settle into retirement soon.

Tonight we’ll be wrapping up the basketball season and that’s another good thing. It’s time for baseball to get some attention and then the greatest sport…football…will be right around the corner!

Guess there’s no news and let’s hope tomorrow will be another good day for everyone. Pray for my mom and that she’ll not have anymore “spells”. We may even get to Harold’s for some GOOD Texas Bar-B-Q!  YUMMY!!!!

Blessings….
