We are now back in Wilmore and I’m almost caught up with everything…finally…from being away for a week. Our trip home was long, but safe, so we’re thankful. We left Abilene on Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m. so we could get to Atoka in time to spend a few hours with the twins and their parents. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen since we got a call during the day telling us that Allison was really sick with the flu. To say we were disappointed is putting it mildly, but we sure didn’t need, or want, the flu so we journeyed on towards home. We were making really good time in our travel until we got within 50 +/- miles of Memphis and then we came to a complete standstill on the interstate for about 1 1/2 hours. We found out later that a horse trailer had gotten rear-ended and the horses were either running loose or dead…we never heard for sure but from the looks of the trailer they would be the latter. We got to Jackson, TN before we stopped for the night and my back was feeling the long ride. After a good night of rest, we hit the road again and got home mid afternoon yesterday (Friday). We had a good time visiting with the folks, along with Lorin and Patsy, and we’re so thankful that mom and dad continue to do well…for the most part. Mom will have a Endoscopy done on Tuesday to see if it really was her esophagus that caused her problems last Sunday. Please continue to remember her in your prayers.
Our guest at the “blue house” arrived yesterday and they had a fun day at Keeneland and said they even won a little money on the horses. Today they got to experience a really heavy KY rain storm, but it’s passed and now we have sunshine. They said they love our little guest house and let’s hope they will return at some future date to again enjoy the horses.
Got stuff to do so I’m closing for now. Have a great time of worship tomorrow and what a blessing to have the windows open, the sun to shine, and to know that spring has finally “sprung”. Love to all!
Blessings…..
