I’m a new fan of UK…unless they are playing UofL, of course,… but they have played a fantastic game against LSU tonight….LSU is #1. The game went into three overtime periods and UK finally won. WAY TO GO CATS!!!
George went on the men’s retreat yesterday with the men from Okolona and he said he had a good time and enjoyed catching up with some of his friends. He was back home by 1 pm so he wasn’t gone long…Friday from 7 pm to Saturday noon. They were in Frankfort, KY which isn’t far from Wilmore.
Meredith spent the night with me…after a shopping trip Friday evening with Tanya and myself…so we didn’t have a chance to do anything special. She’s a sweet girl and quite the talker! She’s growing up so fast and a pleasure to have around.
Monday afternoon we will be going to Louisville to meet with our small group. It’s been over three weeks since we’ve been together and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone. We’re going to have dinner with Melissa and her family so that will be fun.Â
Ryan and Kyle went deer hunting with Byron and his friend today but we haven’t heard if they got anything.   I just wonder who’s in the most danger with kids hunting…people or deer? The kids can’t go without an adult but they are still kids and can get excited when they see that big buck! Byron loves to hunt and the boys have taken the safety course so they could be licensed, so I guess it’s all OK. I just have a strong distaste for guns…PERIOD!
I finally got most of my books unpacked today and I’ve put a lot of my cookbooks into the yard sale pile. I never use them and I have tons of others I seldom use, so that will gave me more shelf space. I will move the cookbooks I’m keeping out of the bookcase altogether once I get shelves in the utility room. Our home is looking good but I still don’t have all the wall decorations, pictures, etc. up but will before long, I’m sure. I bought some tablecloths last night that Im having made into Roman shades for the living room. Once we get these up I’ll have George put a picture of that room up on his blog so you can see them. I think they will be real pretty and will brighten up the room with more color.
Have a meaningful worship time tomorrow and we will do the same as we continue our search for a new church home. We are having spectacular weather in KY and the hint of fall in the air is so very refreshing.
