What an absolutely beautiful day in KY! It’s in the low 70’s with a beautiful blue sky and lots of sunshine. This is near perfect weather.
We went with the Crockett’s and their Indy friends to Keenland race track today and it’s a beautiful place…our first visit there. Keenland is known more for selling championship horses that sell in the millions of dollars…can you believe people can do that?…than they are for racing horses but they do race there two months out of the year. The horse industry will head to Louisville from here and races are held at Churchill Downs through Thanksgiving. Keenland is a beautiful place and the setting is very park-like whereas Churchill Downs is smack in the middle of a neighborhood. What a contrast!
We’re still enjoying our time with Ryan and so are his cousins…Jerod and Meredith are here with him now. They get along really well and it’s good for them to be together. They are outside right now and it’s very quiet so that may mean I should check to see what’s going on. I’m sure they wouldn’t be into anything so I’ll just let it go for now….that’s called being a grandmother vs. a mother.
Not much news and we are feeling more at home every week. Still no friends here but time should help there. Friends are not made overnight so I will be patient. People are really nice here and Wilmore really has that small town feeling because it is a very small town. We’re going to be very comfortable here when we really get old!
The kids are calling from the backyard so guess I should check to see what’s going on. Have a great weekend.
Blessings….
