We’re in Memphis…

We had a great time with Carter and Lori last Friday evening through Monday morning.  The guys caught a respectable amount of fish and us girls did a respectable amount of shopping.  All in all…it was a great time and we’re so thankful for their love and we hope to return again…but it will most likely be in Dallas.  Carter was transferred some months back but they are now serious about the move and have put their home up for sale this last week.  It’s a beautiful home and should sale fast as it’s in a very nice neighborhood.

We headed to Atoka once we left Birmingham and it wasn’t a bad drive but I sure thought it was a boring ride and that’s with a capital B!  We got to Scott and Allison’s around 2:30 (+/-) and the boys were waiting to get reacquainted with us and it only took a minute or two for Papa but we’re still working on the Mimi acceptance.  Both boys are real daddy’s boys, therefore, the two Papa’s are before the two Mimi’s.  Oh well, they’ll learn who’s the true softy really is when they want something!

We’ll be leaving for home early tomorrow morning…another boring drive.  It went from the rainy/cool weather to the real summer…in the mid 90’s…since we left home.  I sure hope my plants are accepting this hot weather, otherwise, I’ll get to try and plant something else later this week.  Especially at the “blue house” since it needs to stay pretty all the time.  No matter how hot it has gotten in KY, it’s nothing in comparison to TX…107 + these last few days.  Sure makes a person excited about July and August!  I will not complain since this is always so much better than the snow and bitter cold we had for so many weeks this last winter.

Thursday morning, early, we’ll be going to Louisville to see Tyler graduate from elementary school…then come right back home since we have stuff to do at home to get ready for more “blue house” guest.  I find it hard to believe Tyler will be in middle school next year…it just can’t be possible!  All the kids are growing up so fast and changing right before our eyes.  Kyle will be going into high school and that, too, is hard to comprehend.  Ryan will be a junior, Madi will have one more year in the elementary school.  Grayson and Blake are also still in elementary school.  Jerod and Meredith are in middle school, Chance is still at WKU studying to be a math teacher and Lacey will be finishing up her EMT/Paramedic degree.  Sean, Branden, and Chase are either out of school or not going to school and working/Army.  Life goes by so fast and they either are, or will be, adults before long.  Sure makes me feel OLD!  Wait a minute…I AM OLD!!!

Guess I’m out of news.  I’ll be back in touch soon.  We continue to have interest in guest for the “blue house”…rented it 15 days this month, 12 in April, and have 7 days for June with the possibility of more…dates are NOT yet confirmed…and then in July we have 13 confirmed days.  So…our little guest house is being used and for that we are so very thankful!!!  Stay cool, healthy, and happy while enjoying the sunshine and all your daily blessings.

Blessings…..
