As I mentioned in a previous blog post, we got home from seeing the boys last Wednesday afternoon and then on Thursday morning…left home at 7:30…we headed to Louisville to see Tyler graduate from elementary school. The kids today get to graduate numerous times…preschool, kindergarten, elementary, middle, high school, and finally college. Back in the day…we graduated high school and college…I never finished college so I only had the one experience. We were back home by mid afternoon and then went back to Louisville on Saturday…again a 7:30 departure time. We were suppose to see both Tyler and Kyle play ball but Kyle’s game was cancelled for whatever reason. Tyler is a serious baseball player…in fact he’s a little to serious and wants to shoulder ALL errors made by others which causes a lot of stress at times. His team came up a little short, unfortunately, but he made the first RBI for his team and got a good rally going. Since he’s a catcher, he sure got hot! I enjoyed watching him play regardless if they lost 8-6.
After Tyler’s game, George headed for Cincinnati for the Reds game with some friends…again the Reds came up short and it took them 11 innings to do so. I stayed at Melissa’s and got to enjoy being with them. Melissa, Madi, and I went and got a pedicure…I also got a manicure…so our day was very successful. George thought he’d be back in Louisville by 9 p.m. so I stayed behind when the Gabehart’s headed to a friend’s high school graduation party…got a lot of knitting done. Since the game went so long, they were all back home just a couple of minutes before George showed up. We didn’t get back home until 1 a.m. Sunday morning…long day but a fun one!
Yesterday (Sunday) we had our dear friends, Ron and Jean Like, come visit and that was so nice. They are so sweet and we hope to take some sort of trip together this fall…if it can get worked out. They will be back in Lexington in October so we’ll see them then for sure. Of course, we hope to all be back in Florida together next winter…they will definitely be going since they own a condo there. We’re still looking for a place and I’m sure we’ll find something affordable soon.
This morning we got to clean the “blue house” again since we had guest there over the weekend…more coming in on Thursday-Friday. We feel blessed to have this new business and the added income…hopefully going to pay for our Florida trip! We are definitely filling a need for families. We are much less expensive than the B&B’s where they would have to have a couple of rooms, etc. We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, fully furnished house! We have every weekend filled through July plus additional days here/there.
This Wednesday we will be celebrating our 49th anniversary…sounds like a long time but it sure has gone by fast! We will be going back to Cincinnati for another Reds game…did that last year and had lots of fun…and then have a nice dinner somewhere. After this trip we may actually slow down a pace or two…probably not…but it sounds good.
Guess I’m out of news, so time for me to get back to my knitting and/or book. It continues to be hot and humid here but it’s still better than cold and snow. Have a great week and may God continue to shower you with grace and mercy.
Blessings……
