The nights are getting colder and I’m now beginning to think about the warmer nights of Florida…January will be here before we know it! We did have a beautiful Sunday with lots of sunshine, so it really hasn’t been a bad day.
Just three more days before we head to Texas. We’re looking forward to our time with family and friends…and some really good Mexican food! There’s nothing better! We’ll also try and get some good bar-b-que at Harold’s…another favorite restaurant of ours. It’s only open for lunch because it’s not safe to be in that area after dark.Â
These next three days will be busy ones…we’re going to Louisville tomorrow evening for dinner with the Gabehart’s and our small group Bible study. The people in this group are so special and we really enjoy being with them. Of course, the Gabehart’s are extra special and it’s always fun being with them. Tuesday we’re having the Crockett’s over for dinner along with another family from the Southside church. Wednesday is the day Wilmore does the big halloween event downtown. Tanya is having a bunch of folks in for chili and then we’ll go to town…they close the street to traffic and all the stores, along with a lot of the different groups from Asbury college, give out treats. This is also when we’ll give our candy out. Everyone comes in costumes but we may bypass that part. We’re probably going as the “new kids” on the block dressed as OLD people! Now that took a lot of thought! Then we’ll be back in Louisville by 8:30 a.m. on Thursday (Nov.1) so Melissa can take us to the airport for our flight to Abilene. We return home on Tuesday (Nov. 6) and we will have company coming on Saturday of that week. Then it’ll be Thanksgiving a couple of weeks after that. I love having a full, hectic schedule!
Hopefully, our contractor will complete the garage/barn before we leave for Texas. There’s been a lot of sawing, etc. in there so all the stuff that is currently stored will have to be cleaned/washed before we can give it away. George is having a lot of shelves put in and that will be really nice for all of our treasures we’re wanting to keep…probably future yard sale stuff. Our home is really quite cozy but I do have trouble with dust. I think most of it is from having all the floors refinished even though it was suppose to be 95% dust free! Yeah right! I guess it will eventually settle down. Tanya had all the vents, etc professionally cleaned while they were living here so it has to be from the refinishing process. Older homes just seem to be dusty so I’ll just learn to live with it and do what I can to control it.
Be safe and watch for all those ghost and gobblins! A fun time for the kids so give CHOCOLATE!Â
Blessings…..
