Can I say it’s HOT…

Can I say it’s HOT and it not be consider a complaint?  Currently it’s right at 90 degrees with the humidity of almost 60% and the sun is shining ever so bright.  HOT, HOT, HOT…but sure beats cold!!!

We’ve had a fun weekend thus far.  Yesterday we headed for Louisville…with Madi in tow…for a 9 a.m. ballgame.  It was a good game and Tyler’s team won 7 – 0.  After the game we went over to Melissa’s and had lunch, played a crazy game of “Apples to Apples” and then a little later went out for a Chinese buffet to celebrate Kyle’s 15th birthday.  That was good and we all ate too much…found several gluten free items and the staff was very accommodating.  Glad Kyle selected this as I love Chinese food.

Melissa had made Kyle a birthday cake…from scratch no less and her first one ever…and it looked delicious.  There were thousands of calories in it…5 sticks of butter + all the other stuff…and it was called Bobby’s Caramel Cake and is a Paula Dean recipe, so you know it was RICH.  Melissa made me a gluten free chocolate cake…from a mix that cost 3 x’s the norm…so we all had some delicious dessert in celebration of Kyle’s birthday.

Allison also had a birthday yesterday.  I’m sure she had a great time enjoying her special day with Scott, Turner, Neyland, and her extended family.  Glad she’s one of us and the mother of our twins!

Kyle came home with us and will be here until Wednesday.  He’s a really good young man but we see very little of him while he’s here.  He and Jerod and like Peas & Carrots…inseparable.  They really are big buddies and enjoy their guy time.

Tomorrow is the 4th and Wilmore will have a BIG parade in the morning and then the town goes to a festival…food, crafty stuff, games, spelling bee, and this is one of our big social affairs for the year.  Love the little town atmosphere!!!

We’re going to a friend’s birthday cook out this evening and that will be a fun time.  Then, tomorrow, we’ll be going to our neighbor’s dinner to celebrate their 35th anniversary.  Guess we’re becoming “small town” party animals.  Of course, we’ll be home before dark on both events so we don’t party too hard.  The remainder of the week will be just our normal, boring routine.  That’s OK ’cause the older I get the better I like “boring”.

Enjoy the 4th and don’t get hurt with the firework…don’t care for these to much…and just be safe.  Clark and Vanessa…glad you’re in your new home and I’m sure you will be settled in no time…not as fast as the last move since you’ll only have four hands and not 10.  Please let’s all pray for rain for Texas and Kentucky.  Texas is terribly dry and we aren’t far behind them.  We could both use a break in the high temperatures.  God is good and I’m so thankful to say I am his daughter.  Again…Happy Birthday KYLE and ALLISON…I love you both.

Blessings………
