Here we sit in the Abilene airport, Tuesday morning, waiting to board our plane to Dallas. We had a good visit with my folks and we redeemed ourselves somewhat it Texas 42 last night…WE WON IT ALL!!! Of course, they beat us royally on a couple of other occasions but we did go out with a blaze of glory. Thanks Mom and Dad for all you did to make us feel so special. She’s still an excellent cook!
Yesterday was a great day…90 degrees and this morning it’s 49…welcome to west Texas. We, George and I, did spend some time with Phyllis Trevathan yesterday. We took her to lunch at Harold’s so we got to eat there twice this trip. She’s doing well health wise, but the mental health is really a struggle. She’s just so lonely and I feel so sad about her situation. She will be moving to Louisville by the end of the year and, as much as she hates the thought of it, it will be the best thing for her. She’ll have family there, friends of many years, and others that will be helping her daily. Please pray she will adjust quickly to her new surroundings and accept the help being offered to her.
We’ll have a four hour lay-over in Dallas so I ought to get my fill of people watching for today. We are suppose to arrive back in Louisville at 5:15 (EST), hopefully we will be able to grab a little dinner with the Gabehart’s, and then head to Wilmore. We’ll be exhausted by the time we get home and have done absolutely nothing but sit all day! This is just some of the joys of travel! I am thankful for this time and so glad we were able to see mom and dad, Lorin and Patsy, and Phyllis. They are all so special to me.
I’ll be back should I find a wireless connection in Dallas…I don’t think they are free and I’m too cheap to pay the fee…otherwise I’ll be back on here tomorrow.
Blessings…….
