Friday already?

Wow…has this week flown by fast!  We are still relishing the memories of last week and having so many of our family members here for a few hours.  I just wish we could do that more often and with everyone.

We learned this week that Carter and Lori have sold their home in Birmingham and have to vacate it by August 31.  I also  know they are going at a crazy pace  right now and with lots of mixed emotions…especially for Lori.  We are praying for them and that this move to Dallas will prove to be a good one and they will once more feel settled and “at home”.  Love you two and we’ll look forward to seeing you once you’re settled in your new place.

We have a new neighbor that moved in last week and he (Craig) will be going to the seminary for the next few years.  Since they are from Florida and they know absolutely no one here, I had a few seminary wives over last night so that she (Jenny) could meet some of the ladies going through this same stage of life.  They all seemed to connect and I hope their relationships will continue to grow.  One thing that is absolutely clear with each one last night is that they all love the Lord, want to serve him 100% of every day, and most want to go into the mission fields once college degrees are completed.  I can honestly say that I did NOT have that same passion when I was their age and for that I’m so sorry…lot of wasted years for me in serving the Lord.  It was a fun evening and I’m glad I was able to help these young ladies connect with each other.

We’re going to witness another young man become a U.S. citizen in a few hours and we are so happy for that sweet family.  He came to Asbury from Hungary and they will be returning to his country once he’s finished at the seminary.  This is the second naturalization we’ve been privileged to attend in the last few month.  They are all so excited and we are blessed by their happiness and joy.

Got stuff to do so I must get busy.  Have a wonderful weekend…summer has once again returned to the bluegrass state…so it’s rather warm again today.  We enjoyed about a week of absolutely beautiful weather so we won’t complain.  Love to you all!

Blessings….
