Today is Lori’s birthday and I know she’ll get to do something special in her new city of Dallas to celebrate. The last few months have been a challenge at times…sell a home you love, quit a job you have had for lots of years and love, move to a city you know little about, find a new job…that’s proving to be a good choice…, and decide on a new home…all the while, she’s maintained a good attitude and is a blessing to our son Carter. Happy Birthday, Lori, and may this year be a real blessing to you. Love you and glad you’re one of us.
We got to spend the better part of today with our special friends, Ron and Jean Like, touring Keenland Race track. The races start tomorrow but, there was a lot of activity going on with getting everything ready. We saw some beautiful horses that the trainers were acclimating to the track…one in particular was resisting the harness and saddle but finally settled down. Ron wasn’t feeling all that great due to a cold, or allergies, but he hung in there. They head for home tomorrow and we won’t see them again until we’re all back in Florida this winter. Thanks for the day and may all your travel remain safe. Love you both!
We are having another great month at the “blue house”…21 days rented out of the 31 so far! We are already booking dates into the spring of 2012…hope it will continue! We’ve had many request for this weekend, and next, due to activities at the Asbury University. Love the families coming in and staying in our cozy little house.
As I’ve mentioned before, I feed three feral cats that show up around here every day. Well…lately I knew something was getting in the food and water at night because of the mess that I’d find each morning. Last night, we heard a noise on the porch, looked out and there were TWO BIG Raccoons gobbling up what the cats had left. Needless to say, the food and water will be brought in each night from now on. I don’t want raccoons hanging out at our house! Did I mention they were really BIG!!! They were, believe me!
No more news so guess I’ll go finish cleaning up the kitchen. Have a great rest-of-the-week and enjoy the beautiful fall days. It was absolutely gorgeous here today. Love to all.
Blessings……
