“Nutcracker”

Today we went to Louisville to go on a school field trip with Madi to see the “Nutcracker” and it was a most enjoyable time…my how field trips have changed!  The theatre was full of kids…I was told there would be about 2000 attending…so there was a lot of excitement throughout.  Afterwards, the class went to the Spaghetti Factory for lunch which consisted of applesauce for the kids, salad for the adults, and a plate of spaghetti and all the French bread you could eat, then ice cream for dessert.  The kids were all well behaved and seemed to enjoy the experience.  Melissa will get to go on this same field trip on Thursday with Tyler…that’s why we went today.  Isn’t retirement great!  What freedom you have at this stage of life.

Since we were going to be in Louisville today, I needed to make a quick trip to Sam’s, which got interrupted by a call from our dentist saying George’s crown was in and when would he like to come in.  I told him we were in town and could he come in today.  He said be there by 3:30 p.m. (it was 2:30 so we had to get moving).   So while he went to the dentist I got my hair trimmed by my favorite stylist.  I had a couple of other jobs I wanted to do…like return something to Meijer’s and go to the post office…but that didn’t get done.  Meijer’s will  be taken care of later and I can go to the post office here.  It was a full day that began at 5:30 a.m. so I feel rather tired tonight.  We were back home by 5:45 p.m…not a long day just a full day.

Not much happening tomorrow or Thursday so I plan to do some cleaning, laundry, and baking.  We’ll be back in Louisville on Friday night for a party and I’m looking forward to that.  This will be with a care group we were in for many years and consist of some really great friends.  Should be lots of fun.  Thank goodness, Louisville is only 70 miles away and not a bad drive.  That is, once we get to the interstate.  Those narrow country roads are a little nerve wracking, but so far so good on them!

Saturday will be our family Christmas and I can’t wait for all the fun we’ll have that evening with our kids and grandkids.  We’re so sorry Clark and family won’t be here but we’ll hope for next year.  Our Christmas will go on until the wee hours of Sunday morning…that is if it’s like previous years and we will again be making memories!

Have a good evening and I’ll be back soon.

Blessings……..
