Our Christmas is in just two days and we’re all getting excited for all the activities. Having most of the family together is the best part. The next best thing is the excitement generated by the children. It gets loud and is total confusion for about ten minutes…then it’s all over. Of course, the adults do a second gift exchange that’s lots of fun. We do a white elephant and this is usually something you don’t want or something ridiculous you found somewhere. I love getting something really crazy because I have next years gift. I bought something at a yard sale while in Florida last year and cannot find it anywhere. I saw it since we’ve moved to Wilmore, but for the life of me, I can’t find it now that I need it. Oh well, I will find it eventually and will now have my gift for next year. Maybe I’ll find it tomorrow otherwise I’ll have to buy something. When we moved I got rid of all the goofy stuff I had accumulate…well, most of the goofy stuff. Some goofy stuff I’ll keep forever!
We have had days of rain so I guess the KY drough is over. Now they are saying it may snow this weekend but I pray it will hold off until at least Monday. The roads to Wilmore are narrow and it won’t do for them to be covered with snow. Branden said today he won’t be coming so we’re down to 20…we’ll miss having him. None of Clark’s family will be represented. Oh well, maybe next year he and Amy can come along with the rest of his family. Amy is his “very special” girlfriend. Can you believe he turned 21 on December 7th? How time flies!
I did my baking today…made many dozens of cookies, some sort of bread, candy, and a cake. That’s all I’m doing for this weekend. The cake will be going to Louisville tomorrow night for the care group party…all the other stuff is for Saturday.
Scott and Allison will get here tomorrow and we’ll be in Louisville. Tanya and Daniel will be at a party, so he’s feeling a little abandoned…drive for 7-8 hours and no one home when you get there…BUMMER!
Do something nice for someone that least expects it. You’ll both feel the presence of Jesus when you do so.
Stay warm and dry and I’ll be back soon.
Blessings….
