What a fun week!!!…

We got home yesterday afternoon and what a week we enjoyed.  We left here on Saturday and headed for Atoka to see Scott and his sweet family.  The boys, Turner and Neyland, are so cute and growing so fast…can’t believe they will be two in February.  They are still exceptionally good little boys, play together very well, and will eat most anything given to them.  Scott and Allison are doing well and are truly blessed to have those sweet boys.

On Monday morning we headed to Dallas and got to have a delicious dinner with Carter and Lori that evening…she made a homemade vegetable soup and peanut butter/chocolate balls that were both gluten free.  We should have gotten there mid-afternoon, but we got to sit on I-30 for two hours due to flooding, so we didn’t get there until after 7.  Tuesday Lori had to go to work, but Carter was able to go in late so we enjoyed breakfast with him at a quaint little restaurant.  They will be moving into their new townhouse on Thursday and they are so happy about that…living in temporary quarters for the last three months has become a challenge.

Once we left Dallas we headed on over to Abilene.  Mom and Dad are doing well and we had a good 4 1/2 days with them.  They can still beat us in Texas 42 but that’s OK ’cause it’s just fun to be able to play the game with them.

We had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner at Lorin and Patsy’s and they were overly concerned about my getting any gluten, but I fared very well and had much to much to eat.  We got to spend several hours with them and Victoria, along with her boyfriend, Kevin.  All in all it was a good afternoon.

We watched lots of football while there, avoided all of the Black Friday shopping, ate out a few times, and just generally got caught up on our visit.  Sunday morning we were on the road by 6:15 a.m. headed back to Dallas.  Chance had come in to see his dad and we wanted to see him, too.  He was flying back to Bowling Green that morning so we only got to be with him about 1 1/2 hours, but we were pleased to have gotten that much.  He’s a good looking and very nice young man.  He has about 1 1/2 years left of college and then will be hitting the job market…he’s a business major.

We again hit the road and headed for home.  We drove/rode about 700 +/- miles on Sunday before we finally called it a day.  We still had seven more hours to go before we got home.  We had LOTS of rain both directions, but we were thankful we didn’t have any snow.  I hear there is some snow in the areas we traveled today, and that’s never a good thing.   Southern folks really don’t know how to drive in snow!  For that matter…neither do I!!!

Guess I need to get busy since there’s lots to do to get caught up from being out of town for ten days.  Have a great week, stay warm and dry, and let’s all get a little excited about the “reason for the season” ….

Blessings…..
