In just two weeks from today we will be on our way to Florida for six weeks…less two days. These next two weeks will be busy ones as we have several projects to finish around the house…bathroom, living room fireplace, and “mud” room, aka laundry room. We are waiting on more tile to get here in order to complete the flooring in this bathroom. When that gets here, put down, grouted and sealed the flood will be finished. George can then do the trim work in there and we can celebrate that the bath is completed. It looks great and George did his usual good job.
Yesterday he removed the tile around our fireplace in the living room and did it ever need to come down! The tile had been on there for decades and some of them were either cracked and/or discolored. He hopes to get this project well on the way to completion today. Of course, with putting down tile, it has to be done in stages. He’ll get it up today and that requires a 24 hour dry time, then the grout will go in and another 24 hour dry time before we spray the seal on it. The old tile had no grout so he may not put any in but I like that look but we’ll see. I’m not the doer…I’m the watcher!
As for the “mud” room (laundry room), there’s still a couple of walls that need to be painted and some caulking done before we can say DONE in there. Again it looks good and we are certainly enjoying having the second bathroom that George put in…small but very beneficial.
Once we get back from Florida, we will probably move our bedroom into the current guest room, even though it is smaller, so we can have a bedroom with a private bath. I would like for George to reconfigure the closets before we do this but, again, we’ll see…doer vs. watcher! Once all these projects are completed, I’m sure it will be time to paint throughout the house. I can honestly say, I’m positive it’ll be time to paint. Many of our rooms haven’t been painted in years and they just need to be freshened up.
I make myself tired just writing all these projects down, but what else are we suppose to be doing? By the time all these are done, it should be spring and time to work in the yard. I am so thankful we are healthy and able to do all this as we both don’t like having nothing to do. I just pray we stay healthy while completing all these projects and are still healthy at the end…and still speaking to each other. Thank goodness, George and I work well together and I do know when to back off…and go at it from another direction…but we really do complement each other with ideas.
Guess I need to get busy. It’s a gloomy day here with rain and dropping temperatures…NO SNOW and thankful for that. Have a good week and I’m still waiting to get in the Christmas spirit. We will be having our family Christmas on the 17th and I’ve got one present here so far. Think I need to get busy? I know, I will have it all done by the 17th. Love to all.
Blessings….
