Sunday

What a great day we had yesterday!  All the kids arrived safely, in-spite of the terrible weather…it was cold and rained all day.  Of course, Scott and Allison got here first at 1 a.m. on Saturday morning.  Chase was our next arrival around 3  p.m that afternoon., then Carter, Lori, Chance and his girlfriend Kristen arrived shortly after that.  Byron, Melissa, and the children got here around 5 so our house was full and I LOVED IT!!!

We went to the local pizza place for dinner at 6 p.m. and the meal was delicious.  Unfortunately, we were the grand finale for the Hot Stone Pizza Place.  The owner of the building closed it down and we are all sick about it.  That was our best restaurant here in Wilmore.  Hopefully, someone will open it back up at some other location near by.  Our meal consisted of salad and LOTS of different kinds of pizza with lots left over.

After the meal, we went to Tanya’s for the rest of the celebration.  We exchanged our gifts, had lots of food and drink, and then we did the “White Elephant” gift exchange…these are always so special.  The kids really love this activity and there’s many laughs at the stuff given.  Goodwill always does a good job on this day thanks to the Ezell’s that wait to the last minute to shop!  It’s amazing the many special gifts you can find at the Goodwill store that make for a perfect “White Elephant” gift.

Of course, one of the highlights of the evening is always the singing on the Karaoke machine…we are really terrible but it’s so much fun!  Daniel and Tanya do a good job when they sing together and Daniel, I do believe, knows every word to every song out there!  Melissa, since it’s her machine and I’m sure she does practice often, is so delightful to watch.  We may even find her on the next “American Idol” or “Searching for the Stars” program…that would be after elephants fly!

Everyone went back home, except for Scott and Allison, last night…S & A left this morning so we are back to quiet.  The weather never got as bad as they were predicting it to be, so for that I’m eternally thankful.  It did turn nasty about 2:30 this morning and it’s really cold today with really strong winds.  Winter is definitely here!  Florida is looking better daily.

We’re going to a Christmas party again tonight and I’m going to take my leftover cookies, etc.  I even had a Strawberry Creme Cake I forgot to set out last night, so it will definitely be going tonight.  Then, should I still have left over cookies, they will be going to Louisville tomorrow night to share with our small group there.  Once that’s over, we should begin to get ready for Ryan’s 13th birthday party that will be at our house next Sunday.  Then I will begin getting all the stuff together for Florida.  We seem to have to take a lot since we’re going to be there for two months.

George and I feel so blessed to have such a great bunch of kids and grand-kids and we thank God often for His blessing us so abundantly.  It’s such a joy to see our adult kids enjoying being together and making memories for their children to talk about in years to come.

Have a good week and do something unexpected that will help make someone else have a good Christmas.  The world is looking for Jesus so let his light shine through YOU.

Blessings……..
