Happy Birthday…

Today we get to celebrate the birth of our first born son, Carter.  We are thankful that we were blessed by God to raise him…I sure don’t take credit for his success, but I do have fond memories of his growing up.  Carter, and his wife Lori, live in downtown Dallas and have just moved into a really neat townhouse.  They are both in the banking business, are currently adjusting to the recent move from Birmingham, and stay very busy but loving it.  Happy Birthday, Carter, and I love you and wish we could be together more often.

So far this month we have had birthday celebrations for Clark…son #2, Lawrence…my brother, Branden…Clark’s #2 son,  Carter…son #1, and soon to be celebrated is Blake…Tanya’s #3 child, Ryan…Melissa’s #1 son, and Chipper…George’s brother.  Throw Christmas into the mix and we can party the month away!

We…rather George…has completed the update on our living room fireplace and it looks fantastic.  The old, ugly tile is gone and has been replaced with slate.  This is a non-working coal fireplace that was used 100 years ago for heat.  I burn candles in it and it makes you feel warm just watching it…funny how the mind works.

The bathroom is almost complete…need one small piece of trim put up, some wall decor, and a new towel bar…and it, too, looks great.  I LOVE not having this bathroom open into the kitchen!  This house is looking very nice, for being over 100 years old and it’s because of George’s hard work and talents.  Thanks, George, for all you you do both inside and outside of this house.  You truly are THE MAN!!!

George started having some foot issues this week and finally went to see about it.  He has a fractured bone in his left foot and is now in a soft cast with a walking boot.  He has no idea as to when, or how, he managed to hurt himself but he did.  I’m just wondering how all this will work on the beach?  Sand vs. cast?  Oh well, we’ll work it out.

Guess I need to get some “Susie homemaker” stuff done so I can get back to my knitting…or start a good book.  Again, have a very Happy Birthday, Carter. Do something fun…or just take a nap!  Love to all.

Blessings…..
