Another special day….

Today we have a couple of reasons to celebrate and party.  First…today is Ryan’s 17th birthday and he is such a good young man.  He loves his ROTC program…and excels in it, loves to hunt, a good student at school, and still staying a step or two ahead of his folks.  Happy, happy birthday Ryan and you are deeply loved by your Mimi.  Also, we celebrate the birth of Jesus.  Even though we ignored this day as his birthday while growing up, I celebrate it now openly and I’m so thankful he came to earth and lives among us today.  Happy birthday to you both!

Secondly, it’s Christmas Eve and I wish all reading this a very Merry Christmas and may all your dreams come true.  We will have a rather quiet day…had originally planned to be sitting on the beach…and that’s not all bad.  George continues to move around quite well with his “knee walker”… and we are both so thankful for that device…the crutches are gone for now.  We took the big bandages off his foot last night and the incision looks very good…still some swelling but no sigh of any infection.  He was able to get the foot wet for the first time in several weeks, still no weight can be applied, and that made getting a shower a lot easier.  We know this healing will take a long time, but we’re thankful he will eventually be back on both feet…just have to be patient while the healing takes place since this area of  the  foot is very slow to heal.  We still don’t know just how he broke it and we pray he’ll never do this again.

We will NOT be having a white Christmas and I couldn’t be happier.  This time last year we had already had 9 inches of snow and we had a white Christmas, but thankfully not this year.  Snow is beautiful but I sure don’t like having to drive in it…I scare myself and all those around me…so I can manage life without it.

Again…Happy, happy birthday Ryan!  May you all have a great Christmas eve and a very Merry Christmas.  Love to all.

Blessings……
