Today is an absolutely gorgeous day with LOTS of welcomed sunshine and temperatures in the mid 60’s by this afternoon. If we had to stay away from Florida this year, this has been a “not-so-bad” month to stay home with a foot propped! It’s rather scary thinking about whats coming “cause we’ve really had no winter to speak of and January is over. February is usually a cold month so we’ll see what the good Lord sends our way. Who knows…maybe this will be the winter with almost no snow or bitter cold weather for extended days. I do remember a March a few years ago that was beyond bitter cold so I won’t set my hopes to high that this winter will be a breeze.
George and I went to Cincinnati yesterday to shop at the IKEA store and found lots of good buys. We are switching out our bedrooms…we’re moving into our current guest room so we will have the attached bathroom…and we want to have a king bed in both bedrooms so we got a king bed frame, a couple of small bedside tables, and picked up a couple of small mattresses for Tanya that she’s using in the kids art room. We were only gone about six hours and four of those were traveling…we shop fast even with a crutch! We also have some furniture to part with but can’t seem to find anyone wanting any of it. These were all great items in our Louisville home but they just are NOT right for this house…too big! We may end up putting them in the driveway with a FREE sign on them and they will be gone in a flash…at least we’d hope so. My computer armoire is extremely heavy and will only be moved once…OUT THE DOOR.  It’s solid oak but these are almost a thing of the past now that everyone uses lap top computers and don’t want the bulky furniture. I wish George could figure out how to take it apart and use the wood for something else but that’s not going to happen. Oh the struggles of having to much stuff!!!
Lorin is now officially retired and it looks as though he had a great send off…thanks for posting the pictures on face book…and glad so many were able to come and share in celebrating you. Enjoy your next week, or so, just relaxing and then watch out for the “honey-do” list that will magically appear. Retirement is a good time and you’ll find you’ll be as busy as when you worked…just with different things.
Guess I’d better get myself ready to go to Wal-Mart so I can have some excitement today…that’s always an adventure. Have a great week. Love to all!
Blessings….
