We are still making our way towards Port Charlotte and I can honestly say…I’m tired of riding! We had hoped to get there yesterday but only got to Valdosta, GA before we called it a day. We left Nashville at 8 a.m. (EST) and after ten hours of riding we had had enough. The traffic was very heavy, which we expected, but we didn’t plan on three different construction areas that caused us to lose two hours of traveling on towards PT. Charlotte. We stayed at the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever seen…the room was very large, the restaurant was good and reasonable, and we had a good nights sleep. If fact, I got to bed earlier than normal. I got my book and read for a while and then gave up and slept until 7: 15 this morning. Since we had expected to get to PT. Charlotte yesterday, we are wearing the same outfits today which are much too warm. Oh well, we have an air conditioned van.
