During the night last night it snowed…a couple of inches, in fact. As much as I dislike snow, it really is beautiful on all the trees, with the sun shining, and the bright blue sky overhead. This is the kind of snow to have…on the ground, tree, etc. but not on the streets. Hopefully, it will all be gone by tonight so it won’t be icy for the morning commuters…and the kids can go to school tomorrow. This is the biggest snow we have had all winter and it came on the 5th of March…now onward to the real spring.
We were pleasantly surprised to have Mark and Margo Black come stay with us on Saturday night. Their daughter, Jessie, and her husband, Jonathan, are moving to Lexington so he can do his residency at UK. J & J are house hunting and needed some parental advise and guidance with finding any flaws, etc. since they are buying their first house and don’t really know just what to look for. We loved having them and know we’ll get to see them often with their kids in the area.
Lacey is having a time recovering from her knee surgery. She was back in the ER yesterday and has been diagnosed with pneumonia…a double whammy for sure! Let’s all pray the meds kick in quick and she heals from both completely.
Carter will be here tomorrow (Tuesday) night and we are so excited about seeing him. He’s going to be in Frankfort on business during the day and then will drive over our way for the night and some of Wednesday before he flies out of Louisville for home. We haven’t seen him since Thanksgiving and this is certainly a welcomed visit. We know it will be brief but we’ll be thankful for what we receive.
Lots of laundry to do today…still don’t mind doing that job, thank goodness…and it’s a reminder of how blessed we are. There are so many here in KY, and in IN, that no longer have anything to wash due to the tornadoes last week. Entire families were killed, homes destroyed, and businesses totally gone…one entire town in IN was completely, and totally, destroyed. A baby girl was found in a field, about 10 miles from her home, and flown to Louisville where she later died along with her parents and two brothers…an entire young family gone! So, so sad. It’s so hard to even get your mind around that kind of devastation! May God bless all of them.
George and I went to Danville , KY yesterday afternoon to see “Fiddler On The Roof”…thanks to the Crockett’s for my birthday gift…and it was so good…I still love the music and story line of that play. Wonder how many times I’ll have to see it before I tire of it? Not there yet!
Have a great day and please pray for Lacey and all the victims of the tornadoes. Love to all!
Blessings…..
