The better part of the state of Kentucky goes NUTS on any day that UK plays UofL in any sport …so today is NUTTY day for sure. The BIG game is tonight as these two teams are in the basketball final four down in New Orleans and are playing against each other. We…the Crockett family and us…are going to Melissa and Byron’s this afternoon so we can watch the game together and we’re looking forward to being together. We are a divided family so some will be happy while some will be sad with the out come. All I can say is … GO CARDS!!! Beat those Cats. Should be a fun time and hopefully a good game.
George got a good report this past Wednesday on his foot. For the most part, it has healed but there are two tiny spots where the bone isn’t completely fused so he’ll go back for one more x-ray in June. He’s not having any issues with it, so we’re thankful that it has gone as well as it has. I also saw the same doctor about my shoulder and it’s still not any better so I got another cortisone shot…this one hurt…and will possibly have it repaired later this summer. It will NOT heal itself and I definitely don’t want it to get worse causing me to loose mobility in that arm. Growing OLD sure isn’t for the faint of heart! Something always breaks, hurts, or refuses to work properly!
I had the fun of helping out our friend at their restaurant this week…her husband, Gary, is in a struggle to win his battle with cancer…and I thought it was lots of fun. It’s located in our drug store so you get to see lots of people and I learned a lot. The main thing I learned is that I have even more respect for waiters/waitresses because that’s hard work. Because we live in a very small town with a strong Christian influence, the people were very nice over all. I didn’t do any cooking but I washed tons of dishes, constantly wiped tables, took orders, delivered food, made a couple of ice creams treats, and just helped any way that I could to get Beth through the day. Please pray that Gary will get better! They are trying to sell their restaurant so they can move back to Michigan and be closer to family but for now they just need to feel peace and love from all those around them.
We have been really blessed with constant guest at the “blue house” and will be through June. It truly is a quaint little house and we have sure helped to improve that section of the block. We have flowers planted, the grass is green and thriving, and it’s always neat and clean. We love our little guest house!
We are leaving for Texas on Wednesday and looking forward to seeing the different family members. We will be with Carter and Lori from Thursday evening - Sunday, then we’ll head for Abilene to see Mom and Dad…along with Lorin and Patsy…from Monday – Thursday. Then early Friday morning, we’ll be heading for Atoka to see Scott, Allison, Turner, and Neyland. We will be home again on Sunday evening so we’d appreciate your prayers for our safe travels and pleasant visits at every stop. We love to travel, spend time with the distant family member, but know we’ll be tired once we return home. Thankfully, we have a friend taking care of the “blue house” as we’ll have guest coming / going while we’re gone.
Guess I’m out of news so I’ll get busy and chase some of these dust bunnies out of our house. It’s a sad thing when the guest house gets more attention that our own house. Oh well, it all gets done eventually. Have a good weekend and let’s all shout…GO CARDS!!!
Blessings…….
