Gonna be HOT…

Here it is a holiday weekend and it’s going to get rather warm here in central Kentucky.  We don’t normally get in the 90’s until July / August but we’re going to start early this year…90 – 95 the next several days and NO rain in sight.  They said yesterday we were already in a drought so the pretty grass and plants won’t last much longer.  We all thought we might have a really hot summer since we had such a mild winter but let’s hope we’ll at least get some rain now and then.

We got to witness Jerod’s graduation from middle school last night and he’s now a “high schooler”…so hard to believe!  Blake graduated from elementary school last week, Madi graduates from elementary school this coming Wednesday, Lacey graduated from paramedic school a week ago, and all the others are just progressing to their next grade.  Life is just flying by at such a rapid rate and all the grand children will be adults before we know it!  Congratulations to all and their accomplishments.  So very proud of each of you!

Today I’m helping our friends out at Tastebuds…a local restaurant in the drug store…and that should be fun.  Most of their help has left since school is out and they have been on overload and just need some help today…I’m a good dish washer, order taker, and table washer!

Madi called last night to tell us she made the volleyball team at the middle school she’ll be attending in the fall.  They play from June – October and she’s really thrilled to have been selected.  We hope to see her play at some point during that time span.  Kyle has had a rough baseball season and has the bruises to prove it.  He got hit in the head…helmet was on thankfully…by a pitched ball and his left ear was quite bruised, ear drum ruptured, and some hearing loss for now.  He’s still playing and I sure pray he won’t be injured any more…he had a slight concussion earlier this season because of a forearm by a runner.  Baseball is a rougher sport than it appears, I guess.  Tyler, Grayson, and Blake are doing well and injury free, so far.  Ryan is going to work on a horse farm this summer…baled hay this week…along with working in a kitchen at a McAllister’s restaurant. Gonna be a busy summer for all!

Guess I better chase some of the dust bunnies out from under the beds before I head to Tastebuds.  Have a safe and fun holiday weekend as we continue to be so blessed.  Our safe, comfortable, and warm country has been worth the efforts in keeping us free.  Thanks to all the men and women that are serving…or have served…the keep it this way.  Love to all!

Blessings…….
