We had a great day yesterday and George did his usual good job teaching our Sunday School class at Central. The people listened so intently and really appreciated all he shared about “His Journey”. Several said they couldn’t wait for next Sunday to get here to hear what else he has to share.
We went to lunch in St. Armands at the Columbia Restaurant…check George’s blog for photos…and they have a truly fabulous salad there called the 1905. Yummy, yummy, yummy! After we ate, we looked at a lot of the art being shown and that was fun. I even found my birthday gift from George…a sterling silver bracelet with three very pretty amethyst stones across the top. See getting OLD isn’t all bad! We got back to Pt. Charlotte around 4:30 p.m. so it was a full day since we left for Sarasota around 8:15 a.m.
Today I played “Susie Homemaker” for awhile by rearranging some of the dust in this house, changed the sheets, and did three loads of laundry. I also walked my 4 miles, cooked Shrimp ‘n Black Bean Chili for lunch, and then we headed to the Venice beach so George could fish off the pier and I could soak up some sunshine. Well, he caught NO fish and the beach was too cold to stay on. After about 30 minutes I was back in the van with my book and happy as a lark! George returned after about one hour. It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine, but that wind on the beach is really cool. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
We have friends coming to spend the night here on the 31st and we’re looking forward to having Ron and Jean Like with us. We met them several years ago while down here and have become friends. In fact, we had lunch with them the day we left to head this direction. They have a daughter in Lexington and another one closer to Louisville…they are from Overland Park, KS. We usually spend several evenings together during the month they are here and then on Sunday we see them at church. Then my folks will be coming in on the 5th for a week and that will also be a good time. They had so much fun last year they decided to come back again this year.Â
Got to get back to my book and the Louisville ballgame on TV. Have a great evening, stay warm, and we miss you all…but not enough to come back to that cold!
Blessings……..
