Mom and Dad come in today

Today is another near perfect day and I can truly see God in so many things…such as the manatees out back in the canal, the many different types of birds flying over head, and whatever type of fish that are jumping out there in the canal.  God is truly amazing and it is so important to take time and “be still” and look for Him each day.  He has promised to reveal himself, but we must be looking for him to see him.

Mom and Dad should be at the Abilene airport right now waiting for their flight into Dallas.  After a rather lengthy layover…thank goodness for the American Airline Admirals club…they will finally get to Ft. Meyers around 9 p.m. tonight.  They are excited about coming, as we are to have them, and I pray they will have as good a time this year as they did last year.

I’m currently reading a book titled “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls and I would recommend it to everyone that would like to know what it would be like to really live in eastern KY, West Virginia, or somewhere else for that matter, and in total poverty.  It’s very interesting, but sad by our standards.  The love they have for each other as a family runs so deep as compared to those of us that have plenty and makes one question who’s life is really one of poverty?   I haven’t finished it so I don’t know just how each of the children, or parents, end up but will let you know.  I should finish it today…tomorrow for sure.

Enjoy the day, stay warm/cool, and dry.  Many of you are having storms today from the looks of the radar on the internet.

Blessings……

PS…I finished the book but you will have to read it to see for yourself how all the family ended up.  It’s worth the time as far as I’m concerned.  Poverty is hard but it can produce a strong family bond!
