November already?????……….

WOW…October just flew by and here it is November and a lot going on for us this month.  We returned home yesterday from a great trip to see my parents and all is well there.

We left here on Sunday, October 28, for Thompson Station, TN to visit with Carter and Lori and to check out their new home…this was sort of on the way to Texas.  They are busy, busy, busy with the chore of getting all those boxes unpacked, stuff put away/donated/ or repacked to store for now, and I don’t envy them.  Their home is beautiful and I know they will love living there for a long time…very little stairs as compared to their Dallas home.  Lori started her new job with Regions this past week and she was excited about that…good luck, Lori, and may it be all you hope it to be.  Love both of you.

We left their home Monday morning and had plans to drive until we got tired as we headed towards Abilene, TX.  Well…we had a great travel day and ended up driving straight through…14 1/2 hours and 900 miles….so we were rather tired once we got there.   Once we got checked in, put our suitcases in our room, we did a quick hello to Mom and Dad before we hit the sack…we had the guest room at University Place already reserved for Tuesday-Friday and it was open that night so that worked out well.  We didn’t do much while there except visit and play 42 which is always fun…along with EAT every couple of hours.  You sure won’t go hungry living there!  We are so thankful that Mom and Dad have such a nice place to live and are doing so well for their advanced years.  We thank the good Lord for blessing them so abundantly each and every day.  My brother, Lorin,  is certainly enjoying his retirement and, also, doing a good job of helping the folks as the need arises since they have FINALLY given up their car.  Sure thankful he’s there to help out since all the rest of us live quite a distance away.  We didn’t see Patsy as she was out of town and will be out of town for the next few weeks.   We also enjoyed visiting with JT, Lou, Don, Marie, and several of the other residents we know at University Place.  The weather was perfect all week and I loved not having to contend with cold days!

We left there early on Saturday morning and headed to Atoka, TN. and we were blessed with another very good travel day.  Our time in Atoka was very brief…less than 24 hours…but oh, so fun.  Turner and Neyland are so adorable and fun to watch and interact with…they are so smart and extremely well behaved.  Scott and Allison are both doing well and they, too, stay very busy.  We just may be spending Christmas with them and that ought to be LOTS of fun!!!  The boys will be three (3) in February so they are at a great age for all the excitement of a magical Christmas.  Love each of you, too.

We got back home yesterday (Sunday) afternoon and it’s always good to get back home even though there was lots of laundry to do.  I had all the sheets from the “blue house” to do along with the dirty cloths we had accumulated.  Got it all done, put away, and I’m so thankful for a good washer and dryer…even though they are OLD.  The week went by fast but we made some good memories and had lots of fun each day.

This week will be a week of catch up…lots of dust bunnies took up residence while we were gone…along with lots of leaves to rake up and bag.  Have a good week everyone and it is definitely colder here than Texas…28 this morning but going up to the high 40’s or low 50’s.  Love to all!

Blessings…….
