George did another wonderful job of seeing that my birthday was celebrated to the max. He invited Bob and Carla from Louisville, Ron and Jean from Overland Park, KS, Mom and Dad, and us, of course, for a truly great steak dinner. He grilled the steaks, sauted’ mushrooms, steamed asparagus with a Hollandaise Sauce, and Jean brought a green salad. I had made some beer bread so we had lots to eat. He even had birthday cake and ice cream so no one went away hungry. He also gave me the bracelet I wrote about earlier, a pedometer, and a new walking shoes. I heard from all our kids, several other family members, and some friends. I also got a box of chocolate candy from both Bob/Carla and Ron/Jean and they are both delicious. I even shared them with everyone last night but after such a big meal we didn’t eat many of them.
I felt really honored that all the kids remembered to call me on the exact day…they always remember but it might take some of them a few days to get around to calling. Thanks everyone…I love you all.
The birthday dinner the folks took me to on Thursday night was also great. I love this restaurant. It sits right across from the Englewood beach so you can watch the sunset.  I had broiled scallops AGAIN and they were delicious. See how much fun birthdays can be when you get old and everyone wants to be sure you know you are loved and appreciated!
Dad has enjoyed fishing from the boat dock the last few days. He’s caught several nice size ones but we always do the catch and release so it’s just for the fun of it. Mom is doing well and enjoying her reading and they both are still good at 42. Although, they may be in a little slump right now…that can always change on any given day.
We’re just hanging around the house today…can’t have every day filled with excitement. Tomorrow will be another full day with church, lunch, and then dinner at Teresa’s, my niece, that evening. The days are just flying by and they will be going home on Tuesday so we want them to be glad they left here so they can rest when they get home.
Enjoy the weekend and here’s a quote from my little book by Barbara Johnson…”The surest mark of a Christian is not faith or love but JOY.“Â Be sure all those you come in contact with each day will be able to see your joy!
Blessings………
