Back to reality….

We had a great time this past week.  On Wednesday, the 21st, we headed to Racine, WI to spend Thanksgiving with Clark and Vanessa and it was a fabulous time.  They bent over backwards making sure we were well fed, entertained, and  they even played 42 with us.  Vanessa is just learning but she caught on fast, so it was a fun time.

On Sunday the 25th, we headed to Galena, IL to meet our friends from KS…Ron and Jean Like…they are so special to us.  We had so much fun seeing the sights of Galena together, playing hearts, letting Ron be our “activity” coordinator, and just visiting around the fireplace.  We will be looking forward to catching up with them again at some point this winter.  It was really cold in Galena but, we didn’t let the weather keep us from getting out.  We managed to check out all the shops, visit a ski resort where they were making snow, and each of the drivers managed to get “disoriented” on all those country roads while going to, or from, our condo.  Somehow we always manage to get back but it made for many laughs in the process.

We got home yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon and we were greeted by Jim, Jr.  He had some time to kill due to a cancellation so we were blessed with his presence.  In fact, he even took us out to dinner…guess he knew I wasn’t cooking after riding in the car for a little over nine hours! lol…and the Crockett’s dropped by to see Jim after we got back too the house…and to welcome us home…so our evening was full.

Today has definitely been wash day.  I had all our clothes for the week we were gone from home plus all the sheets and towels from the “blue house” as we had guest there during the Thanksgiving days.  Glad I don’t mind doing laundry!!  I should have hung the sheets out today but didn’t because it’s so cool.  The sun is shining and I’m sure they would have dried and been a lot less wrinkled…lazy me!  The dryer sure doesn’t do sheets very well!  They wind up in a big ball and come out so wrinkled.  Oh well, hopefully our future guest won’t mind or notice.

Guess that’s about all for now.  God continues to bless us with decent health…for OLD people, that is…and He is keeping us well fed and happy.  It is good to be home even though we loved being with Clark, Vanessa, Ron, and Jean.  They are each one a treasure and I am so blessed with people that love me, in spite of me.  Have a good weekend, stay warm, and be good…Santa is watching.  To late for some of us, but good advice for all others.  Love to all!

Blessings……….
