What a great day we had yesterday! We joined up with Ron and Jean at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast then headed to the Cape. It took about three plus hours to get there, but it was not a bad ride since we were with friends. Once we got inside the place we were only able to do the general tour tickete…all the other tours were already sold out. Actually, this was enough for all of us. It’s amazing how large the shuttles are, the magnitude with which they operate, and the thousands of people involved in launching something/someone out into space. It’s well worth the time to visit so any of you headed to Disney World, take a day and visit the KSC. I know George will be posting some comments and pictures on his blog later today so check him out. We got back to the house around 10:30 p.m. so we were tired but it was a very fun day and one we will always remember. Memories were definitely made this day with our special friends from KS!
Today is another sunny day and I’m hoping we’ll get over to the beach for a couple of hours. I will be going for my usual walk this morning and I feel I need to increase the time and distance since I still feel stuffed from yesterday. We didn’t eat until late, my hamburger set like a brick in my stomach, and it’s still there!Â
We only have two weeks left and I’m hoping all the snow and really cold days will be over with in KY by that time. After two months of sunshine and warm days, the cold of KY will seem really cold to us OLD folks.
Here’s another GRANDMOTHER brag…Jerod is #1 in Language Arts on his academic team and will be going to a competition on March 1 to compete with others. He’s a really smart young man and we feel sure he will do well. Congratulations, Jerod! Also, Ryan’s Quick Recall team is competing in the regional competition this weekend in Louisville and we’re hoping they will do well again. He had to miss the BIG youth rally in Gatlinburg, TN to do this, so that was a bummer. That’s a really fun youth rally that we have attended with the youth group a couple of times and all the kids really look forward to going…Kyle got to go so that was probably even more painful for Ryan.Â
Have a good day everyone!
Blessings……..
