Another year….

My but how time flies by and it is now 2013!  We are praying this year will be a year full of ways to serve God, and each other, as we accept whatever challenges come our way.  But for now, it’s time to get back to reality…the kids are back in school, people are back at work, and we get back to doing the daily things that we consider to be our normal lifestyle!  The holidays were fun but I’m glad to get back to our normal.

We still have no definite plans on getting to Florida during these next few winter months…our third year to remain at home…but we haven’t given up on going either.  I will be having shoulder surgery tomorrow (Thursday the 3rd) and that requires several months of recovery and physical therapy.  We are praying the surgery will go well and I could do my daily physical therapy in Florida as well as here at home, but we’ll just have to wait and see about that.  I don’t even know what the therapy consist of but it shouldn’t be to involved.  I know this is suppose to be a very painful surgery and recovery time but I’m sure tired of the pain I’ve been having for the last 18 + months.  When something gets between me and my knitting/crocheting, it’s time to get it fixed.  I have confidence in our doctor and trust him to fix it completely.  I do ask that you pray for me, and for George, as the next few weeks will be trying on us both.

George is going to get a good dose of being a Suzy Homemaker for this month as I will not be able to use my right arm at all.  He’ll even get to be a hair stylist and makeup artist…this ought to be interesting…and I’m interested to see how all that goes…ought to teach us both patience if nothing else.  I won’t be able to blog for the next several weeks but I’ll be back on here when I know it’s OK to do so.

We continue to have really cold days/nights but the snow is almost all gone, thankfully.  We have already had more snow this winter than we had all of last winter…3 inches more, in fact…but last winter was an unusually mild one.  Oh well, spring will be here in just a few more months and it will be glad to have her back!

It’s amazing how much of our stuff can wear out within days of each other.  The last couple of weeks we’ve bought a new battery for the van, new washer and dryer…old washer gave it up after over 20 + years of dedicated service, and we gave the dryer away…got a new vacuum cleaner yesterday as the one we had would groan and choked when we tried to use it…again over 22 years of picking up our dirt…and now the water heater at the “blue house” decided to join in by refusing to stay ignited and heat any water with guest coming in Friday…repair man coming sometime today.  2013 has sure been exciting so far and makes us excited to what’s just around the corner…after my surgery!  Life is fun but we are so blessed and we sure don’t worry about the small stuff.  Therefore, bring it on 2013!!!

Guess I’d better get myself busy doing some things around here that I want done before tomorrow…we’re going out to dinner with some friends tonight and looking forward to that…then it will be read, rest, and recover for the next few weeks.  I would appreciate your prayers and I’m so thankful the surgeon can fix me up.  Modern medicine is good!  Love to all.

Blessings…….
