Saturday

We continue to enjoy our time here and it’s getting down to just a few more days of sunshine and a “do-nothing” lifestyle.  It’s icy back in KY and I’m just hoping all the cold, snow, and ice will be gone before we get there next Saturday.

We heard yesterday that Blake has a mishap while at the gym at Asbury College that resulted in a broken finger…his little one on his right hand.  We know that hurt a lot!  He’ll have to wear a splint for only a couple of weeks…and for that we’re thankful.  Of course, this will put a damper on his basketball games.  Knowing Blake, he’ll figure out a way to play anyway…he’s quite athletic.  Blake was a brave and forgiving patient and we know you will heal just fine.

Tonight is our dinner party…if you want to call it that…and we’re looking forward to having one of the elders and his wife, Clay and Pat, and the preacher and his wife, Rob and Brenda, here.  We will enjoy getting to know them even more and we feel honored they are willing to drive to our place just for dinner…both live about an hour away in either Bradenton or Sarasota.

Tomorrow evening we will be meeting up with George’s cousins…David from Sarasota and Jerry from Alabama…and that will be lots of fun.  Of course, David’s wife Sophia with be the hit of the evening.  She’s really a fun lady!

On Monday we will be having dinner in Venice with the second elder and his wife from Central, Ron and Allison, and we’re looking forward to that, also.  They have been so encouraging to George with the classes he’s been giving at church these last several weeks.

Not much else going on and the sunshine is calling me to come out to the boat dock.  Stay warm!

Blessings…….
