Dinner with Ron and Alison

We had a most enjoyable evening last night and enjoyed our time with Ron and Alison.  We met at a Mexican restaurant around 5:45 p.m., enjoyed a good meal, and then went to a Starbucks for coffee and to just talk.  We got back to our house around 10 p.m. so we were not out very late.  We are all on changing…maybe growing is a better word…spiritual journeys so we had some meaningful discussion.  I wish it was clearer want I need to do at times, but I have to “Be still” and know God is always in control, and for that I’m thankful.  I can only say we are all strong, committed Christians and wanting a deeper relationship with God and others, and that continues to be evident as we met with them, and others.

We’re going back to Sarasota tonight to have dinner with David and Sophia again.  They selected an Italian restaurant so I know I’ll find something good to eat there.  I love Italian food…most food for that matter!

Tomorrow we’ll spend most of the day with Ron and Jean and say our good-byes.  Thursday will be a day to locate all our stuff that’s scattered around this house, clean the house, pack, and get ourselves ready to leave out Friday morning.  Of course, I’m hoping we can work in a couple of hours going to the beach that day, also.  It’s suppose to turn cool so we may not want to go.  It’s been in the mid-80’s the last several days and that has been great.  It’s still cold and snowy in KY but I’m praying it will decide to leave by Saturday when we finally get back home.

These two months in Florida have been a great time of reflection, rest, relationship strengthening, and study.  We don’t have much of an agenda on most days, but we do spend quite a few hours each day reading, etc. and that has been good.  Some reading material is spiritual and some has just been for fun…check my book list if you’re interested it what I’ve been reading.  Of course, we always find time to walk/run/or ride.  I still don’t enjoy exercising but I will continue to do it so I’ll stay somewhat healthy.

We got a sad call from Meredith last night during dinner.  Their family dog, Sugar, got “bumped” by a car yesterday evening…she wasn’t run over just banged up some…but it was upsetting to say the least.  Sugar was able to run on home but she has a really sore spot on her head and keeps shaking her head to try and get rid of whatever it is bothering her.  She probably has a concussion and is hearing a lot of ringing, etc.  I’m sure she has a headache.  Of course, the Vet is out of town and the one taking the calls said to just watch her for now.  She’s not feeling great, they said, but she is eating, etc.  I’m sure she will be fine.

Got to get myself ready for another night out.  My social life here is so much more that we have at home and that’s been fun.  We’ve made some friends this year and have enjoyed being with them at various times…now to make friends at home.  I guess to do that, we’ll have to stay  in town a little more!

Enjoy the evening.

Blessings……….
