We left Pt. Charlotte Friday morning and drove to Adairville, GA. We had hoped to get as far as Chattanooga, TN but after eleven hours of sitting our OLD bodies said enough was enough. So we stopped, enjoyed a good nights sleep and then headed for home early Saturday morning. We arrived home around 1:30 p.m. and it’s definitely good to be back.
We got the van unpacked and then headed over to the Crockett’s.  Jerod, Meredith, Blake, and Grayson had all grown quite a lot during the two months we were basking in the sunshine. The kids had a lot to share with us, so here goes some of my grandmother bragging rights…Grayson got his first basketball shot to go in for two points!  It was their last game of the season so it was a very exciting two points. He’s the youngest one on the team but he was able to keep up and he gave it his all at every game. Way to go Grayson!!! I knew you’d finally get one to go in. He had many to almost go in but would just circle the rim and then fall out. Meredith was also able to score some points for her team and did some good offensive plays. Blake was able to play in-spite of his broken finger and he, too, did a good job. Jerod wasn’t playing ball this time because he was in a Language Arts academic event. He did a super job of answering questions, testing, and ended up winning a GOLD metal. He’s the district champion in Language Arts.  It’s never been won by a fourth grader before…YOU TRULY ARE THE CHAMPION!!!  His team also came in first place so he was very happy with how his day had gone! He’s such a joy and we are all so proud of him and his ability. Now all of that good news was well worth coming home to.
We had a delicious meal with them last night and again today after worship. Tanya is a good cook and you never go away hungry. Tomorrow I hope to get the laundry done, remove some of the dust out of the house…we had some work done while gone plus two months of no dusting…at least, the dust the workers made has had time to settle so it won’t be too hard to remove. Hopefully, we will be able to get over to Louisville to see the grand-kids there…not sure about Branden but we will see Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, and Madison. Oh ya, Melissa and Byron, too!
From all indication Sean and Vanessa are enjoying their time in Europe. Sean will be going back to Kosovo and Vanessa will head home to Clark and Lacey this week. I know that has been some good mother/son time and one they will cherish forever. I look forward to hearing all the details. Branden continues to do well in school…from all we hear through his dad. Also, Chase and Chance are staying busy with school and baseball. Once you get to the teen years, their lives are on a fast track and it’s hard to keep up. Lacey is busy with her job at K-Mart and school but she’s really looking forward to graduation and moving back to Louisville. She’s planning on going to junior college there. She’ll do well in whatever she decides to do, I’m sure.
We are having some sunshine here in KY but the thermostat needs to be turned up a notch or two! My body has gotten use to warmer weather and I’ve been cold ever since we’ve gotten back home… even with the sunshine. Oh well, it a few months I’ll be complaining of the heat and humidity!
Have a wonderful week and may your life show the peace, joy, and love of God to all those around you.
Blessings….
