Dad called late last night to inform us that Mother had been put into the hospital because of her heart…at least we think it’s her heart but we really don’t have any results from the many test they are currently running. We do know her heart gets out of rhythm and that’s not a good thing. She will be in the hospital a few more days from all indication so, would you please say a prayer for her and that something can be done to help her. She sounded tired when I talked with her…didn’t get much sleep last night with the nurses always coming in to check on her… and she said her back was bothering her more than anything else. She has a lot of arthritis in her spine so she’s always in pain. This constant laying in bed doesn’t help that issue. She’s not bed ridden, but you know how much fun you have in the hospital with not much to do, so you just stay in bed.
I got all the “junk” out of the lower part of the carriage house today and now Goodwill is the proud owners of it all. I’m not even sure where some of that stuff came from, but it’s all gone now. We had a large box of old towels, throw pillows, table cloths that we set out at the street with a sign that said FREE. It was gone within the hour…first guy got most of it and we didn’t notice who took the remaining items…along with a “little people” basketball goal post. I should have set all that junk out at the street and saved us from having to go to the Goodwill store. I have more stuff to go through but it won’t be for a while. I can only have so much fun in any one week.
We had a good day in Louisville yesterday visiting with a couple of the team members from the Crossroads Missions group. The new inner city work they are helping with in downtown Louisville is a very good opportunity to minister to the homeless. We, George and I, will continue to help where we can from home with occasional trips into Louisville. We just have to be attentive to what God wants us to be doing.
We will have the Crockett kids tomorrow night while their folks go to a marriage enrichment seminar in Lexington. They, the kids, are always fun and are excited about spending the night at Mimi and Papa’s. We’ll be taking them to their school “Spring Fling”…or whatever it’s called…on Saturday morning. That’s the big fund raiser for the year so I’m sure we’ll have to buy something. I made a batch of fudge for their bake sale items…very tasty! Hope whatever is bought won’t be part of our next trip to the Goodwill store. Stuff creates a vicious cycle!
Have a good evening and thanks for praying for my mother.
Blessings….
