The sun actually showed up this afternoon and it has helped in melting the snow. In fact, I picked up last Saturday’s paper out of the yard today…it had been under the snow all this time. It’s still only in the 40’s but at least we saw some sunshine. I can’t seem to get warm since we’ve gotten home…guess I got use to the Florida warmth…but I know it won’t be long and spring will really be here! YEAH!!!
Mother went home from the hospital on Sunday afternoon and she said she’s feeling pretty good. She said she’s tired but guess that’s to be expected after all she’s been through. She is responding well to the new medication and I pray she will continue to do so.Â
We went and ate lunch with Meredith today at her school and it was “crazy hair day”. We saw some really crazy hair on some of the kids…no prizes given just a break from the daily routine. They have missed a lot of school this semester because of snow, so they may not get their spring break…that would be a bummer but better than going through June.
I’m going to lunch tomorrow with a new friend, and I’m looking forward to getting to know Mary better…we met at church. She works at UK so we will meet at a restaurant close to her office. They, she and her husband, are looking to start a small group Bible study and we said we’d be interested, so we’ll see how that turns out.
We met our friends, Ron and Jean, for lunch yesterday before they headed back home to KS…they are so special and we really enjoy our time with them. They were here to see a granddaughter compete in her gymnastics.  She’s apparently quite good and has hopes for a college scholarship. That’s a difficult sport and I admire anyone willing to put in about 18-20 hours of practice every week.   We will be planning a trip with them to the Smokies sometime late summer or early fall.Â
Another quote from my book by Barbara Johnson…..”I’ve reached the age where it’s harder to think of my body as a temple. It’s more like a building project that got out of control”.
Blessings…..
