Anniversary weekend…

George and I returned home about noon today after having an amazing time in Cincinnati.  We left home on Saturday morning and did some tourist things before we checked into the B&B.  We first went to Jungle Jim’s…the biggest grocery store ever!!…and I purchased several gluten free goodies along with some candy…found in each and every section… and other things we didn’t need but looked worthy of our purchase of them.  They have foods from every country, and in large quantities, and most anything you would want to eat or drink.  Once we tired of looking at the vast supply of groceries, we headed to Burlington, KY…town the B&B was located…for lunch and the nacho’s we ordered were just OK, but filling.  We then went and checked into the B&B…it’s a LOVELY place and great place to relax..so we kicked back and watched the UofL baseball game on TV until time for dinner.  We had heard about a Korean restaurant in Cincinnati so we thought we’d just try it out.  We had never eaten Korean food before so we were clueless as to what to order but the people there were very accommodating…even have gluten free stuff.  Everything was delicious…although somewhat spicy for some items…and we’d definitely go back.  Can’t really tell you what we ate but it was tasty!

On Sunday we ate a BIG breakfast at the B&B and it was a good experience…they even made me some gluten free pancakes!  Once we became stuffed we headed out to church and then on to Louisville for Ryan’s graduation party.  Melissa and Byron did a great job of celebrating their first born son.  They had bbq, slaw, baked beans, cheesy potato casserole, potato salad, hot dogs, veg. relish tray, fruit tray, dessert, and drinks…another stuffing opportunity.  There were lots of people there and it was fun meeting new faces and getting to see some of our favorite people anywhere.  We departed from the party to head back to Cincinnati for the ballgame.  Going to the Red’s games is always fun, but they came up rather short last night in the 10th inning but that’s OK as it was midnight and I was ready to call it a day.  We had another good breakfast this morning before heading for home…still no place like home for me…and we are currently getting the blue house back in order after our last guest left at noon today.   George and I have truly been blessed with a good marriage…certainly not a perfect one…and we thank our kids for making this particular B&B possible…gift certificate from our 50th!   51 years have gone by fast and we’re praying we’ll have many more happy years together.  Love you my sweet soul mate!

Got to get busy.  Continue to pray for Jim’s brother, Ronnie, as he’s recovering from emergency heart surgery and has a long, difficult recovery time facing him.  Love to all.

Blessings…..
