This past week went by so fast but I’m glad I got to be around to enjoy all the festivities. We flew out of Lexington on August 7th headed for Abilene to visit my folks and attend the wedding of our niece, Victoria and her prince Kevin. The wedding was a beautiful event and we’ll continue to pray for this new family to have many years of happy wedded bliss. Not only was the wedding special, but Saturday all of my brothers and sister were together and it’s been many years since that has happen. My parents are doing well and seem to have handled all the noise, confusion, and being drug around everywhere very well. We know that they don’t get out a lot, so when any of us are around, we try and take them to some of their favorite restaurants to eat some of their favorite foods. We were busy most of the time while there either helping set up/take down wedding stuff, eating, talking, eating, and/or running back to the hotel. Regardless, it was a good week and I’m so glad we got to be there. We got back home on the 13th and we’ve been busy, busy, busy since we got back. Both the “blue house” and our house are now clean and 7 loads of laundry later I only have the grocery shopping to do and then I can get back to working on my sweater I’m making. God has blessed us with decent health and strong backs, so we are able to do all we do and loving life!
The college kids are back in Wilmore, so our little town has come back to life. The Crockett kids started back to school yesterday and they all seem to be happy with their teachers and ready to tackle another year…Jerod is in the 10th, Meredith is in the 9th, Blake is in the 7th, and Grayson is in the 6th…so there’s only 2 schools to contend with vs. the three of last year. The Gabehart kids start next week and they, too, are ready to get back…at least, their mama is ready for them to go back. Ryan will be at UofL so this will be a really exciting year for him. Please pray that all the kids have a good year, stay safe, and learn a lot.
It was so sad to hear of the UPS plane going down yesterday and the lost of life is always hard to accept. Our friend, Patty, is almost done with this life and looking forward to being with the Lord as she has suffered so much and far to long. She will be missed by all of us that love her but we will all rejoice when her suffering is over.
Central Kentucky continues to have unusual weather for August…was in the upper 40’s this morning when we got up and only going to be in the low 80’s for the high today. The entire summer has been a dream weather wise. We’ve only had some really hot days for a little over a week during July and have only used our AC less than two weeks the entire summer. Makes me wonder just what our winter will be like?
Got to get busy. Have a great week and know you are loved by me.
Blessings……….
