My grandkids shared!

I have been puny the last couple of days but I’m finally feeling better tonight.  I had fever this afternoon…it’s currently gone away…and after a good meal of chicken and dumplings prepared by Tanya, I think I’m going to make it!  This virus isn’t a stomach type virus, it’s just you feel really sore in every muscle in your body followed by the fever.  I’m assuming I’m over it but I’ll know for sure once the Ibuprofen wears off.

Wednesday was the only day this week it didn’t rain.  We…us and the Crockett’s…were able to take in some good walking trails out at Shakertown…check out George’s blog for a video and some absolutely beautiful sites we found there.  We will definitely go again and, hopefully, the water will be down so we can check out some other trails that are available.  We continue to be consumed with rain and now a lot of flooding going on.  Hopefully, it will eventually stop and we can get the carriage house painted, etc.  Surely we will find a happy medium with rain vs. drought before long.

We are “dog sitting” for some friends and Molly is a very well behaved animal.  We will take her home on Sunday before we head to Louisville for Madi’s special day.  J.D. and Tiffany will be home sometime that afternoon so she should do OK in her kennel for a couple of hours.  She was so excited today when she saw Tanya and her children…since she has no clue who we are…and I can just imagine how excited she’ll get once her family gets home.  Pets are great but I’m glad we don’t have any.  I’m just to lazy to want to take care of them all the time.

We bought us a new matress yesterday and it was delivered today so hope this will help our backs and entire OLD bodies.  Our old matress was almost 20 years old and had a very definite sag going on!   We bought a temprupedic so it will be different from any we’ve ever had.  We have 90 days to decide if we want to keep it.  We’ll know for sure if it is better on our backs, etc. in that length of time.

My author Barbara Johnson had a great quote at the end of one of her devotionals…“Some people grow up and spread cheer…others just grow up and spread”.  Sadly, I can relate.

Enjoy your weekend.

Blessings…………
