Wednesday already?….

Here it is the middle of the week and August is going to be over in just a little a few more days.  Time sure flies by when you’re having fun!

We went to say our good-bye to Patty and, as usual, we got to see a lot of others that we have shared so many years with while we lived in Louisville.  Patty had a very large family that we have learned to love, along with several from Okolona church, and we will all miss her.  She had gotten down to just 80 pounds, in severe and constant pain, so it was definitely time for her to be finished with this life…she was only 55.

After the funeral we rushed over to Madi’s school to watch her play volleyball…they won, by the way so that made for a fun time.  We didn’t get to see any of the boys since they were either at the dentist, ballpark, or work but we did have a little time with Melissa, Byron, and Madi.  Life continues to stay on the busy side for all of them but they seem to be surviving.

Last night we took a young couple to dinner…they are finished at the seminary and will be moving to Georgia next week…and we have really enjoyed having them as part of our lives.  Getting to know and “adopt” some of these young families have really been a joy to us and we feel that’s a big part of why we are in Wilmore.  Curtis will be back from time to time while he finishes up his dissertation…Maggie and the children won’t necessarily be with him…so that was another “good-bye” this week.

Tomorrow we’re going to Cincinnati to see another Red’s ballgame…this is a rescheduled game from a previous rained out game.  The, not so accurate, weatherman is predicting rain again so we’ll see if we get to watch this game against the Diamondbacks.  We do enjoy going to the ball games…only about two hours away…so we’ve managed to catch a couple of them this season.

We’re looking forward to our visit with Ron and Jean, which is coming up soon, and catching up on all the fun stuff they’ve been doing along with all the places they’ve been.  They are another couple that are so special to us.  Then it won’t be long before we’ll get to spend five days with Carter and Lori, along with her parents, in Florida and I am really excited about seeing them and THE BEACH!!!

Guess I’d better get busy and pretend I’m going to accomplish something before I get back to my crocheting.  I could have my sweater done before long…that is if I spend a little more time on it.  I’m working on the back which is the last piece and then it’s just a matter of sewing  the pieces together.  It’s going to be to warm to wear it for awhile, so I’m not in any hurry to get it finished.

Have a good “hump” day and know you are loved!

Blessings……….
