This month has just flown by and it’s almost time for September to arrive. It’s just now getting HOT here in central Kentucky so summer can’t be coming to a close? We truly have had a wonderful, mild summer but the last 10 days have been the ones of a real summer…hot and humid. All the kids are back in school and guess they are all settled into their new schedules and classes by now. I do pray all of them have a great year and, for those working, that they also have a great year.
In just a few days we will be headed to Kansas City, MO to visit our good friends, Ron and Jean Like, for a couple of days and we are so looking forward to seeing them. Then, later in September we’ll be meeting Carter and Lori, along with her family, in Florida for five days and I can’t wait to see them and the beach. The “blue house” is always slow in September, so it works out well for us to go and do some fun stuff.
August was a very busy month with only four days, out of the 31 days, we had no one using the house…let’s all say YEAH!!!  In fact, the entire summer has been really busy and we are so thankful and blessed! October is also pretty full, but after that, there’s just a few bookings…as of now. We continue to enjoy running our little guest house and have met some really great people, so we’ll continue doing this for another few years…or as long as we remain strong and healthy!
I am currently waiting on our guest to leave so I can get started on cleaning up their messes before our new guest arrive this afternoon. George will join me later…he had to take Dr. Galloway to his doctor for some issue he’s experiences. Of course, George will also have to make a quick stop at the Wood Craft store since it’s close by!…funny how that works out that way.  He is sure enjoying his work shop and has made some really neat things these last few years. We are both thankful he has the time, ability, and desire to do these creative things that make great gifts.
I finished my sweater…all but the blocking of it…and it turned out well for my first crocheted sweater. It will be a while before I will be wearing it though. The weather will need to change for Hot to COLD because it’s a really warm sweater…I feel sure I will enjoy having it come winter. I, too, love my creative ability with both knitting and crocheting!  Guess you might say…we’re both such OLD, artsy folks!!!
The water department just came by and said they will be turning off the water around here today so they can flush out the lines. That ALWAYS makes the water a rusty color that permanently colors clothing if you don’t wait a while. So guess that means I won’t be washing all those sheets and towels today…glad I have duplicates of everything. I’m sure I’ll be able to get it all done later today but I really prefer to hang my sheets outside and that doesn’t appear a reality for now. Oh well, guess I’ll have more knitting, or reading, time today after I finish cleaning up the “blue house”. Life is so rough!!!
Have a good, long week-end as our country takes time to celebrate Labor Day. Stay cool, rested, healthy, and happy. Love to all.
Blessings………..
